What Did/Will Your DH/FI Give You As A Wedding Gift?

Recommended Posts

Are/Did you exchange wedding gifts?

Tom just asked if I would like him to pay off my car for his wedding gift to me. He said he knows it's not a keepsake, but that it will help me get debt-free, which I agree with. I told him that's great and I think it's a FABULOUS gift.

I have my BD album for him, but it seems like an awfully small gift compared to paying several thousand dollars to pay off the car.

Curious what others have gotten from your men?

Also, other ideas on something I can perhaps add to my BD album gift to make it seem a little more substantial...

I was going crazy trying to think of something, but Mike said he really doesn't want to exchange gifts. So, I told him our wedding bands will be it. I'll buy his and vice versa. I think he said it because he knows how much I stress out trying to find the "perfect gift" and he's trying to take some of the stress off of me, which it really does! smile36.gif

we didn't really exchange gifts. i did give him the b-pics album though. and he wrote me a really sweet card. he also said we're going to get new tennis stuff and make a point to do more stuff like that together, just because we've both been working so much and haven't been taking advantage of where we live (lots of outdoor activities, etc).

We didn't do anything either. Well when we got back from Cabo I told him he could get the PS2 since he worked so hard to pay for our wedding. But I wouldn't say that was a wedding gift, just a "thank you for wanting to make our dat special gift". :-)

We aren't exchanging gifts. He isn't a watch guy and has a ton of Broncos stuff already.

What about an experience? I took my FI to a surprise weekend in Santa Barbara and front row tickets to see Dave Matthews. It cost me an arm and a leg, but so worth it.

My girlfriend got her FI a chance to race a nascar or something cool to do with a buddy (or you!)

I got Jeff the B Pics, but didn't really expect him to get me anything. Actually, I kinda demanded that he NOT get me anything! We bought eachother's wedding bands (they cost around the same amount of $), and because he spent so much on my ering I didn't want him buying anything else.

I gave him a BD book and card, my sister delivered it to him before the wedding. I had no clue that he got me a present because he had just got me a car and we said that was going to be the gift. His brother came to my room before the wedding with a card and a diamond necklace and I was so shocked. I ended up wearing the necklace that day and loved it with my dress.

I was happy with the car idea as well, so I think that is a great gift!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
