We also didn't want to spend our honeymoon time with everyone else, so we will be getting married at Paradisus Palma Real on 5-28-08, and either leaving that night or the next morning to fly to Hawaii for our honeymoon...At least that's the plan right now!

We are getting married July 11, 2008 at Paradisus PC, and are planning on leaving the following Monday for a 5-day honeymoon elsewhere. Our big problem now is deciding where to go!
Does anyone know of an adults-only resort in DC that is super-luxurious and honeymoon worthy? I've spent so much time researching family-friendly resorts for the wedding, that I haven't even started on honeymoon resorts!
And dlou, great to see another Baton Rouge face! =)

Secrets Excellence is adults-only. PPR isn't adults-only but it caters to adults and has very few kids from what I hear (and the RS area is adults-only, with your own pool, bar and restaurants).

This is exactly what we plan on doing!
I already told the front desk at Iberostar that my fi and I would like to be far away from everyone else. He was so great and told me he could even get all my guests in the same building complex...and us far far away! LOL.
We will most likely go to a different hotel at the end of it all.
The only thing I advise you to look into is transportation with your travel package. B/c most travel agents will set it up for you leaving the resort that you ARRIVED to initially. Discuss it with your travel agent so you can set it up!
WEDDINGMOON! LOL

We are going away for 2 weeks, and I'm thinking we might do this. First week with our guests, and then jet off to another locale for our second week... for a change of scenery more than anything! I hear secrets is really nice.

My familiy has informed us that they will be staying in Punta Cana for TEN days. I was like, Really? LOL.
So our plan is to get hitched at the Iberostar Punta Cana on July 5th, and then later go to the Majestic Colonial which is right next door. I am really excited and totally understand those of you who want some 'alone time.'
Some of you guys are going to be in Punta Cana at the same time as me, albeit different resorts! Small world. I love that feeling!
Hooray for the Punta Cana weddings!

We're at the Ocean blue from 7th to 21st july, we get married on the 10th. We can't really go anywhere else as we have three children, youngest being (or will be) 7. I can fully understand why you want to go somewhere else though.

we'll be putting the do not disturb sign on the room door the night and morning after the wedding.
... well we'll be having a hangover!
No seriously, I like the idea of going to a different hotel but we can justifying bring them all the way over and then leaving them. We picked a very big resort. We'll go into hiding and have a few romantic meals along, other than that - it's a family holiday
