karma: 3 | I need a cheap but decent hotel for a possible site visit!!
Does anyone know of a cheap hotel but that isn't a complete dump. We want to book a last minuate site visit to cabo and don't want to spend much...Airfare is the most expensive right now...
I only want to go 2-3 nights...but pleasant hawaiian holidays is offering $994 out the door for 2 of us for 4 nights at Villa Del Palmar, airfare (non-stop) and transfers.
It looks so far the best deal. We can't afford to stay at dreams or FA where we will stay and have the wedding next year...

Sounds like a good deal. Villa Del Palmar is were I stayed at for our wedding week (well there and the Sheraton for two night for our wedding) but it's actually not bad, has a ton of activites going on every day. The food their isn't that great, so IMO either stock up from the market or enjoy all the food in downtown..

Noted..thanks!! If we do stay there we won't eat there!
I think they also had the Hotel Finistera as an option for about the same price and Royal Solaris which is ai in San Jose....that was a little bit more though.

In all honesty I think VDP would be fine for a couple days. For our next trip out there we'll probably stay there again. It's close to downtown, you can stock the kitchen to save some bucks if you wanted and I love to people watch and it's great for that.
If your doing a site visit I don't know if you would want to stay in San Jose, only because you would have to drive further for everything.. IMO at least. I'm sure others may offer more help..

Michelle, we stayed at the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa and it was reasonable. The place was not a dump and very close to everything. We rented a car but didn't need it. We're recommending this hotel to guests who do not want to pay $200/nt at VDA.

We went in April of this year and Expedia was running a special...I think it was $146/nt. You'd think it would be cheap right now, since it's low season. Did you check expedia.com and hotels.com?

We got a deal through them for 7 nights at El Presidente in Los Cabos (AI) for only 900 total for the both of us (this was last December)! They have quite a few last minute deals on there. I would definately check it out. The arrangements were totally seamless and included transportation to and from airport as well. El Presidente is a nice AI for a site visit.....not the greatest for a wedding perhaps, but we had a really nice and relaxing vaca there.
