 | Ideas for Napa? So, David and I are thinking of taking a trip there in the spring - probably March. And I was wondering if any of you had any reccomendations for wineries to visit, places to stay, shop, eat etc. Just wondering what not to miss in Napa!!
So far I think we're actually going to stay in a couple different places.
Here for the first couple nights: Walnut Creek Hotels, Northern California Luxury Accommodations & Lodging - Lafayette Park Hotel
'cause it looks pretty and a friend of mine has been to their location in Monterey and LOVES it. :-)
And then stay the last few days here: Embassy Suites Hotel Napa Valley California - Napa Valley CA Hotels
The only thing we're pretty much dead set on doing is playing a round of golf here: The Course at Wente Vineyards - Livermore Valley Golf, California Golf, Livermore Valley Wine, Fine Weddings and Special Events
And by "we" I mean "he" and I plan to ride along, take pictures of beautiful things and drink - a lot. lol!
That's really all I've got! Any ideas or suggestions from you Napa experts are appreciated! And, of course, I'll make sure to post reveiws of the hotels and such in case someone needs them. :-)

 | Re: Ideas for Napa? Good to know. We figured it would be chilly for sure and were ok w/ that...but too much rain might not be fun. Do you think April might be any better?

 | Re: Ideas for Napa? The Bay is known for April showers too but I wouldn't let it stop you from coming, it's not like people stay inside when it rains, lol. I totally stayed at the Lafayette Park Hotel when I was in like 7th grade for a friend's birthday slumber party. It was beautiful but I'm sure it's even nicer now. Just an FYI Napa is a decent drive from Walnut Creek, not bad, but just know that they aren't adjacent to each other.
Shopping - I got you here. The Napa Premium Outlets. Very cool stores and restaurants along the way there. Napa Premium Outlets
I swear we used to go to a small like 8 store outlet center in Calistoga but I can't find it online, if I do I'll add it. Oh you'll have a blast, pack a cooler and pull over for a picnic (if it's dry), tour some wineries, take pictures for us :o) |

 | Re: Ideas for Napa? I knew I wasn't crazy! I used to go to the tiny Donna Karen and Escada outlets when I was addicted to brand names in high school (haha), but it's in St. Helena, not Calistoga. It's right down the road from Napa: Napa Valley, CA - St. Helena Premium Outlets: 25-65% savings at name brand stores |

 | Re: Ideas for Napa? Hi just thought I'd give my 2 cents on Napa, since I'm from there(kinda), my family is still there. You should stay at The Beazley House B&B, Napa's first and best (if you ask me Bed and Breakfast. It might be a little biased but it is really georgeous and they are awesome at recomending the best wineries to visit, plus their chocolate chip cookies are to die for! | Cool! yeah, I knew they weren't right next to each other...because I'm a geek and "mapquest-ed" routes out of Oakland and SF (depending on where we fly in) to the hotels and stuff! lol! But from what good ol' mapquest said it seemed like it would be about 45 mins or so between the two hotels? I figured that wasn't too bad - and I'd like to actually drive around and see stuff. That area is SO much prettier than really anywhere in Texas! :-)
And it's funny you mentioned the outlets - we were browsing around on the computer getting idea the other night when all of the sudden David covered the screen w/ his hand! I moved it to see an advertisment/link for the outlets!! Lol! he knows me all too well...
I was thinking that once we're in Napa we'd want to spend a day in Calistoga as well. I've heard it's great and seems like a fun place to spend a day.
