Does anyone know of a good photographer in Punta Cana?

You don't have a lot of options in PC besides the resort photographers. Some are good, some are not so good. I have hired a photographer stateside who we are paying to travel with us and shoot the wedding.

When in April is your wedding and where are you getting married? Maybe we will cross paths!!!

Finding someone from the states is a good idea. Find some photographers that you really like their work & then contact them about their travel expenses & their availability. Sometimes it's not as much as you'd think it would be to have a US photograph a DW.

There are No photographers in Punta Cana (just resort ones) that I could find, and believe me I looked, and looked, and looked....

This is the heartbreak of my wedding!!!!LOL

There is www.hispaniolafoto.com, located in the Punta Cana area ... but they look pretty, well ... not so good. I have some receommendations on DR photogs who I spoke with and were not available formy date. prices are good depending on your budget. I would contact Jill Higgins Photographer Destination Wedding Photography Savannah Charleston Tallahassee Valdosta (she did my BD photos and was going to do the wedding but got booked before I got her my deposit). The one who is doing mine is Amy Martin Photography. They both have comparable rates for the DR, with two photogs and great package options.

Bronze:
Photography of Ceremony with half an hour after ceremony for a beach or garden session with the newlywed couple, two sets of 50 Photographs printed in 6"x 8" format, the photos will vary from Color to B/W to Sepia. Cost, US$550.00 (One Photographer)

Silver Package:
Photography of preparation of bride and groom in rooms, photography of ceremony, with an hour after ceremony for a beach or garden session with the newlywed couple, two sets of 100 photographs printed in 6"x 8" format, 10 photographs printed in 8"x 12" as selected by couple, a DVD presentation of Photographs with music, the photos will vary from Color to B/W to Sepia. Cost, US$1,000.00 (Two Photographers)

Gold Package:
Photography preparation of bride and groom in rooms, photography of ceremony, with an hour after ceremony for a beach or garden session with the newlywed couple, Photographs of reception until the cutting of the cake, two sets of 200 Photographs printed in 6"x 8" format, 20 photographs printed in 8"x 12" as selected by couple, a DVD presentation of Photographs with music, a 30 Photographs session pre or post wedding with different clothing of the couple. Cost US$1,800.00 (Two Photographers)


We *might* have a friend who is coming to the wedding do pictures, otherwise, we will go with these guys. I've seen some pics from this group and they have been decent pics.

Has the resort sent you any files so you can see the kind of work their photogs do? I would be leery of locking in a resort photographer without knowing what to expect. I know some of the DR resorts have phenomenal photogs ... but others -- not so much. Havn't heard any good things about the one offered ay my wedding resort ... so that's why we decided to invest in hiring our own.

You could always pic a photographer here. I know of some great photographers that do really great specials for destination weddings. PM me if you want me to send you their info :)

I have seen a couple of weddings done by this resort outfit (actually 2 different photogs) on another message board (GASP!) so I know the work is decent. I'd be lying to say its the caliber of some of the fine photogs here, but budget is a huge consideration for us, and we want something more than snapshots from relatives. I think this will work nicely if our friend cannot make it.
