Mike & Morgan's mountaintop proposal

Recommended Posts

Mike & I moved to North Carolina 3 years ago so I could go to grad school at Duke. Our favorite thing to do in North Carolina is hiking. We moved from South Texas where it is really flat so the moutains here amaze me. I love being on top & looking at the view. So it was perfect that Mike proposed to me on top of a moutain with an amazing view.

His mom & sisters came out to see us for a vacation. We took them hiking on a moutain called Max Patch, right off the Appalacian trail. Its a bald moutain, so you have a 360 degree view on the top. Before we got to the top, his mom said she wanted to rest so just Mike & I kept going up. On the way up he proposed. It was great that we had that moment private, but they were there afterwards to celebrate with.

This was June 21, 2007 which is why I really want to get my wedding date reserved for June 21, 2008. Hopefully I get that confirmed soon.

I can't insert a picture without it being huge. The picture in my avatar is from that day.

It was great that it fit us. We went to the UK & France in March. I thought for sure we'd get engaged in some romantic location on the trip. Once we were there, I was so glad we didn't get engaged. It just wasn't us. We were so busy being tourist that it just wouldn't have been right.

My WC should be at work now. I'm calling Mexico again. I really want this set. They answered the phone in spanish & that got me super excited about being in Mexico next year!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
