 | Attention Fiesta Americana Brides I am just wondering what you are choosing for your dinner options.
I am picky and I'm on a budget. I think I want to do a buffet because I feel like it's more food. However I don't like their set buffets so I just compiled my own buffet menu from all of their options and cut things out and reduced the price and emailed Sonia to see if that would work or what would work that is similar. Previously she told me that I can tell her exactly what I want and she will price it for me.
Well apparently her out of office reply says she is out until Mid October (pregnancy maybe??) So it gave me an email to Daniela. I emailed her now and I have to wait until she gets back to me....
So I thought I would ask you girls and see what you are doing... |

 | Re: Attention Fiesta Americana Brides OMG Michelle, I almost had a heart attack! "Attention Fiesta Americana Brides"...I thought the resort had burned down or something. WHEW!
I am not too thrilled with the buffet options either, and I do not want a sit down dinner. So we are in the beginning of the process. I have looked over the Gala Dinner Buffet (think it's on the Dinners handout), taken out what we don't want (like the mussles and duck pate!), and we'll add the cheese boutique for the cocktail hour and the Italian boutique for dinner as well. I'm hoping that with all of those changes & additions, we'll end up in the $65-70/person range...I refuse to pay the full price for a bunch of raw vegetables and seafood my guests won't enjoy.
The other buffets don't impress me too much...our guests will be tired of mexican food by then, and the latin buffet doesn't thrill me either. So that leaves the gala, but severely altered.
I'll let you know how the negotiations go though...since your contact has left, who is your new person? Eloisa was my initial contact, but she had a baby too, so that's how I am now with Daniela. BTW, Daniela is usually pretty quick to respond, no more than a day I would say.
Let me know how it all goes. I think if we compare notes & prices we should negotiate pretty well!

 | Re: Attention Fiesta Americana Brides My WC worked with Daniella and she has been very responsive. We wanted a sit down dinner and opted for choices from the "weddings" menu because it offered butler passed hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour (nice touch) and included the wedding cake for desert.
Since we started talking to the hotel in 2006, we were able to order off of the "weddings 2006" menu. We are offering our guests three choices: duck breast, sea bass or chicken breast. The average price per guest WITH tip and tax is $85.
The bar is another issue... their prices are so high! We have pretty much decided to pay by comsumption, but that makes me nervous. I'm going to have my WC keep an eye on the bar bill during the reception and let us know when we get close to our budget. We are planning on $6k for 70 guests. Hopefully, we won't come near that amount, but it's better to plan conservatively and have some $$ left over, right?

Yeah the bar prices are really high...My FI thinks we should do consumption too...but it also scares me...we only will have about 35 guests...but I will do the same thing put someone in charge to check the tab throughout the night...Plus since we will be in the suite...I am thinking since they want music off at 10pm we can cut off the bar and send them on their way and since they said we could have music but low past 10pm we can have more alcohol in the suite and bust that out afterward until everyone wants to go back.... |
