Man, I'm starting to get bummed. I don't think we'll be able to come close to the 36 people necessary for the minimum takeover...

Hey Jaime, they have a link also for general pricing if you can't do the buyout. When I emailed Adam, I also asked about that because from our initial headcount, I see about 13 rooms that could be booked, which is still 5 short of the 18 minimum. From what I saw, the general pricing for a Standard room was the same as the individual price for the breakfast/bar package.
I'm curious what it would be like without a buyout tho---- would prices increase for wedding things? Would there be time limits? How would it work for doing a reception around the pool if there were non-wedding guests who wanted to swim, etc...?
Hopefully we'll hear back soon and get a better feel for all of these options...
Also, don't worry yet---- we really only thought there would be about 20 people with interest in going with us and we've had 40 people say they are planning to attend. Granted, you never know and it could go either way, but I think people will surprise you!

Thanks Maria - so far we've only got 12 people in our immediate family who we're pretty sure would go. Past that, we can't really count on anyone - especially for a room bookout. That is a good idea about checking out individual rooms. They do get pretty expensive by themselves tho - unless it's the standard room. Hmmm... It will be interesting to see what Adam has to say about that. I know, we can just combine our weddings - then we'd have enough!

You'd provide the artists, we'd have the musicians--- what an ecclectic sounding party that would be!!! :)
Jackie-
One more question: Is there a cancellation period for the room block? Like at most hotels, you pay a deposit and if you cancel before a certain timeframe you can get part/full refund of the deposit... Or, do you pay the deposit at the same time you sign a contract for the room block and then you're just locked in?

Also, if you only fill 18 rooms, there is a chance that some other rooms will be occupied by time-share owners. PF's owner assured me that they are used to this situation, and allow privacy on the wedding night. I'm not sure if you can do a wedding there without either a partial or full takeover, though?? Hmm..I never asked that question. Either way, I think you will be surprised at how many people decide to join you!

Ohhh...I'm loving this hotel, but i don't know how my guests feel about not being all inclusive...and I'm also scared of not booking all the rooms...

The $1660.23 is PER COUPLE.(Forgot to mention that above!) It includes:
-5 Nights Accommodations for 2 guests
-Daily Open National Bar for 2 guests
-Daily Breakfast Buffet for 2 guests
-2 Thirty Minute Massages*
-10% House Service Charge
-17% Tax
*$15 service charge
Airline Tickets have averaged about $450.00 each round trip. So far, we have 22 rooms booked, and our guests keep commenting on the great rate!
I am happy to answer any questions you may have! Ask away! | So the flight was not included in this price (1660.23)? So, the 450.00 for the flight is in addition to the 1660.23 for lodging?

Also, I'm sure flights have gone up since last year (when this post was started) so you will probably want to check into that. Lodging may have also gone up (I think hotels and such generally go up %10/yr).
Hope this helps! It really is a beautiful location :)

We are thinking of doing the 18 room block w/National Open Bar & Breakfast. When I had checked into it before (probably 6 months ago) I don't think they offered the Open Bar option, so that is great and saves a lot of money!!
I emailed Adam 2 nights ago. I think last time it took him a few days to get back to me, which is fine. I'm sure they're busy with a wedding or something.
I just hope that we can fill the 18 room requirement for the room block! I wonder what we would do if we couldn't... I am really set on this location so that would bum me out if we could go just because we don't have enough people!!! |
Jaime - June is rainy season. Many planners have advised against it. FYI
