Playa Fiesta - Average Costs?

Recommended Posts

I believe there are a few ladies now getting married at Playa Fiesta on here, and others who have at least been there.

I have a few questions:

- What is your estimated cost (not including your guests lodging) for the whole wedding/dinners/drinks that you're paying for?

- Do you have other activities outside of the hotel planned? Are you worried at all about your guests getting bored? Do you go outside the hotel for the rest of the meals that you do not choose to order for your guests?

- Is there a beach w/sand leading up to the water that is swimmable or is it just rocky?

I can't believe it but I am actually reconsidering this location... Ha!

One big plus is that it doesn't seem too expensive for the guests. At around $100/night per person x 5 nights that's only $500 for the hotel costs - not bad! And it is my understanding that this includes an open National bar (beer, wine, well liquors).

*Edit* I keep forgetting to add in all those taxes/gratuities that are not included which is 27%. So that would bring it up to about $635 pp total for lodging BUT you can also get a massage for a simple $15 gratuity charge which is nice! Also, airfare from DFW to PV would be around $600 so that's only app. $1,200 pp which isn't bad for a 5 night stay! I bet Cabo Dreams would be twice that... (That's the other location I'm considering)

Hi Jaime,

We are getting married at Playa Fiesta in February.

We did a partial takeover package, which included breakfast and open bar for the week, and our guests are paying a grand total $1,660 for the 5 nights. We are getting married during high season, so the cost would be lower during the summer.

To answer some of your questions -

We also purchased a dinner and entertainment package, so that guests will stay busy(if they want to). We are doing karaoke at the bar one night, and having fire jugglers come another night. We are also doing a welcome dinner and our rehearsal dinner there. There is also a restaurant at the hotel, or guests can travel into PV to eat. And, we are planning a canopy tour (ziplining) for a daytime activity.

We are estimating our wedding and reception costs to be around $15,000 - $20,000. But I believe that you could do a wedding there for MUCH cheaper.

The beach outside of Playa Fiesta is rocky, but a short cab ride will take you to nicer beaches.

Let me know if you have any other questions!!

Jackie

Jaime,

I was so excited to hear that you are considering Playa Fiesta - we are SO happy with our decision to have our wedding there!

The $1660.23 is PER COUPLE.(Forgot to mention that above!) It includes:

-5 Nights Accommodations for 2 guests

-Daily Open National Bar for 2 guests

-Daily Breakfast Buffet for 2 guests

-2 Thirty Minute Massages*

-10% House Service Charge

-17% Tax

*$15 service charge

Airline Tickets have averaged about $450.00 each round trip. So far, we have 22 rooms booked, and our guests keep commenting on the great rate!

I am happy to answer any questions you may have! Ask away!

We are flying Delta. Check Kayak.com - it will compare all airlines for the lowest price. We considered using a TA, but set up a website with all the info instead - it has worked just fine.

What dates are you considering? What package? Have you talked to Adam yet? Let me know all the details!!!

Cool, I will try that out - thanks! :)

We were thinking mid to late June but after I saw what the rainy season is like there we were thinking we may need to reschedule... I'd like to make it so that family can bring their little ones once school is out. I have some family in Boston tho, and I think they don't get out until later there (maybe late June?).

We are thinking of doing the 18 room block w/National Open Bar & Breakfast. When I had checked into it before (probably 6 months ago) I don't think they offered the Open Bar option, so that is great and saves a lot of money!!

I emailed Adam 2 nights ago. I think last time it took him a few days to get back to me, which is fine. I'm sure they're busy with a wedding or something.

I just hope that we can fill the 18 room requirement for the room block! I wonder what we would do if we couldn't... I am really set on this location so that would bum me out if we could go just because we don't have enough people!!!

Just remembered - I think Adam said he is on vacation until the end of next week.

If you don't fill the 18 room block, you are still responsible for paying for the unbooked rooms. That part really scared me, but it ended up working out just fine. We were surprised at the number of people who decided to come.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
