I am trying to settle on a wedding date and I am nervous about the rain factor. Does anyone know what the rainy season is like in May...we would like to get married over Memorial Day weekend 2008 in PV or NV!

Typically, the rainy season in Mexico starts in early June and lasts through October
edit, also found this Puerto Vallarta Weather Nuevo Vallarta climate webcam
has a nice chart of temps and rainy days

We were there May 27- June 3 and no rain at all. We were told by locals that it starts mid-late June.

Hi! I agree, I think your out of the woods in May. I, on the other hand, need to put aside an emergency fund for a tent if it rains on our day, eeek!
I asked our WC, and he says not to worry now. We'll monitor the weather and deside a couple weeks before if a tent is needed.

I think you're safe in May. And if it rains, it rains... there's nothing you can do about it. And yes, I've heard it too that if it rains on your wedding day, it's good luck... so there ya go! It's win-win either way! lol

I live in PV and after living through several rainy season down here, I can safely say its unlikely that it will rain at that time, but there is about a 10% chance it might. The rain normally starts in June. It didnt rain in May this year, it started a little bit the first couple of weeks in June... I love the month of May in PV, there arent nearly as many people and the weather is still as beautiful as March/April time...

PS... the farther north out of PV you go... the nicer the beaches get. Grand Velas is worth considering in NV... its BEAUTIFUL
