Default Grand Wailea Resort

Lying majestically on forty acres overlooking the #1 Beach in America - Wailea Beach on the southwest shore of Maui, the AAA Five Diamond Grand Wailea Resort, Hotel & Spa exemplifies Hawaii's extraordinary natural surroundings, rich culture and friendly people.

Okay, so on the Travel Channel, on Girl meets Hawaii (like the view, the Girl in the show is annoying), they always pan over the pool here and Michael and I were like, that's the Grand Wailea (so I looked it up and yep, it is). Anyhow, we're staying here from June 6-12 (we fly there on the 6 from Oahu) and again, I'd love any reviews, personal pictures people have, etc.

Thanks!

Our family stayed here in 2006. A very beautiful resort with a beautiful chapel in its grounds. Would be an ideal area for a wedding. Wailea beach is not white sands though and I expected more like Carribean but I believe this is Pacific so not that impressed. It is calm, no seaweed, no rocks but I prefer the turquoise waters of the Carribean. The whole area is very nice since it is next to Four Seasons etc. I love walking in the mornings in the walkway that connects all hotels. Don't do the Road to Hana trip--bunch of hype! We felt we wasted a whole day on that trip!

I stayed at this resort about 10 years ago with my family. It's beautiful but lots of kids! The chapel is really stunning.

I loved the road to Hana - if you actually go into the bamboo rainforest and do hikes along the way and hang out in Hana, it offers a whole different vibe and feel of Hawaii compared with the resort areas.

We attended a wedding at the Grand Wailea two years ago. they got married on the beach which was beautiful, but it wasn't private (guests stopped and watched the ceremony). the resort itself is gorgeous!!! They chose to have their reception inside b/c an outside reception had to end at 10pm!! overall, we had a great time!
