RIU Negril Private Receptions-Help!

Hello,

 

I am currently trying to decide which RIU in Jamacia to go with. I am reading on various posts and sites that the RIU Negril will not guarantee you a private reception until you get there, vs RIU Ocho Rios that reserves a private reception with no problem. I am also wondering abou the cost of the private receptions. Does anyone have any information about this? I'm confused.

Hey I am not planning my wedding at the RIU Negril but, I got engaged this may there! We saw about 2 weddings a day on the beach and it seemed most weddings had a private reception at the stakehouse at night - I don't think you will have a problem reserving a spot ( they took reservations for dinner every other day so if you ask when you get there I'm sure it wont be full) It also seemed like they blocked off three parts of the stakehouse (like seperate rooms) and thats where they had the wedding receptions.

Email the resort directly, they will share this info with you. Also, I know it's not always easy to find....but there is lots of info & pics on this site regarding the info you are looking for. So far I've been quoted $55 US pp for a private reception...ROR offers a really nice poolside reception too, but all the resorts offer different things.
