I am going to Puerto Vallarta tomorrow to do a little "scouting trip." And maybe in between all the work, we will have time for some suntanning and a fun drink or two.
One of our main tasks is finding a hotel for all of our 150 guests to stay at. As of right now we are staying at Dreams to check that one out.
Does anyone absolutely love the hotel that they have chosen or have any suggestions? We are also going to look at the Grand Mayan. We are getting married at Las Caletas so we just need a hotel, not a wedding site. I like all-inclusives but am open to any suggestions.
Thanks, Katie

Hi Katie;
The hotel I'm staying at is in PV and it may be worth checking out as it has 600 rooms. It's the Riu Jalisco and it's an all inclusive. you may want to check out it's sister hotel the Riu Vallarta. It was opened Nov 06 - so it's still very new. i think it has aprox 500 rooms.
Good luck with your scouting trip. Glad you are taking out some time for the sun. have fun!!! I'm so jelouse!

Yay! I'm a Las Caletas bride too. We're at Dreams but many of our guests are staying at Velas Vallarta (AI).

I'm VERY partial to the south side with the mountains and all the green jungles. In that area (south of town/ Mismaloya) there is also the Intercontinental & Barcelo that I've heard good things about.

I agree Amanda, the southside of PV is so beautiful. I've stayed at Mismaloya in the past. I do think they need to remodel but I think the prices are great and remember that its an all-suite AI.
We had booked Dreams for our wedding but we changed our venue to the Mayan since they are letting us stay until 2am (and the WC was more responsive). But if you are only looking for accomidations, I def would stay at Dreams!

Thank you so much for your replies. Although Dreams wasn't for us, we did decide on Mayan Resorts (thank you Amy for that suggestion). I was going to look at all of the hotels, but after we went to that one we just knew it was it.
Thanks again,
Katie
