You need to be certified to do caves and night diving and anything below about 40-50 ft and to do ship wrecks! That's why I want us to get certified:) I don't know if we can afford it w/the wedding and all. But, since i'm the budget keeper, I'll do my best to make it happen. If not me, he deffinitely deserves it!

But if thats the case we probably won't do it, I don't think we'll have time or money to get certified before we go or while we're there.

To do cave diving you need (and probably should be) certified. Some of the cenotes do not have underwater access to cave systems and you might be able to dive in those ones. Not sure though. Everyone I have talked to about cave diving says it is quite the experience. You need the training for being in an environment where daylight is not able to be seen, and the training of how to not freak out in a tight cave 100 feet below ground.
