Hello ladies,
Here's my dillema. My destination wedding dress is going to be very, well, destination wedding like. Very airy and light and non-traditional.
We are having a low key ceremony back home in a synogogue on a Sun morning with a low key brunch to follow.
My question is, what should I wear to this low-key event. My grandmom insists that I wear my wedding dress (I think it's because she doesn't realize what it will look like). My mom says: we'll see what the dress looks like. I'm having it hand made (most likely). I feel like, the ceremony is not my full blown wedding and I don't want to "waste" my very special dress for this.
Then again, I have no clue what I could wear to this...!!!! ??
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not having an AHR - but i think most girls do use this as a good excuse to wear their dress again! but if i remember correctly, your AHR is before the actual DW - right? that changes things i think. i wouldn't wnat to wear my dress either - not before the "wedding"

Yeah, my AHR/C is about a week and a half before my DW. I'm so torn. Currently looking at dresses on the Bloomys and Macys and Sacks websites and the gowns seem tooooo forman while everything else seems too inapropriate or plain!

there are a lot of nice, inexpensive dresses at like Macy's or even JCrew that look like wedding dresses, but aren't overly formal. That way gramdma can see a wedding dress, but you don't have to spoil the surprise and wear your real one!
like, check these out ... J.Crew > wedding shop > brides |

J Crew does have some cute dresses and if you are patient, you can sometimes find the same dresses on ebay for quite a deal. Try searching on ebay for white/ivory/cream dresses. I found a very pretty dress there for my legal ceremony.
good luck! Looking forward to seeing what you decide on.

Thanks Tammy. I didn't even think of them. Check out this dress I found for $198. I'm sorry if the pic is enormous. I just have to show it to my mom now:)
