Tammy - I left the bustling situation up to my MOH, because frankly, I didn't really give a crap! Isn't that aweful? Anyway, I had her put it down right before I walked down to the beach to go down the aisle. Once the ceremony was over, and we started the cocktail hour, people kept stepping on my train & it was getting all icky, so I had her bustle it up. Hence, most of our beach pics are with the train bustled. After we thought we were done w/beach pics my MOH made us go back down & get pics w/the train down (she's so funny that way)...I did it for her :)
Ultimately it will come down to practicality - just do whatever you need to do.

I'm having the same problem deciding. I love the train on my dress, its medium length, but I'm wondering if it will be easier to keep it bustled the whole time. I really think I will leave it down for the ceremony and pictures and then bustle it.

I think part of it is going to depend on the style of bustle you will use. I know some bustles can be very complicated, and take a considerable amount of time to do...especially if your train has multiple layers or is quite long. If you bustle is pretty simple, it might be reasonable to take it up and down a couple of times. Have you seen your dress bustled yet? Sometimes, I think certain dresses look even better bustled than not. I have a pretty short train that I will wear down for the ceremony, and some pics, but I'll probably bustle it for the cocktail hour and leave it that way during sunset pics.

I just went for my first dress fitting yesterday, and my dress will have two different bustles. And personally I love it both ways, but I also think it will be a PITA to get bustled back up.

I agree, leave the train down for the ceremony and pictures and then bustle it up for dinner. What's the point in having a train, if you don't ever really get to see it?
I don't know about the neckline. Did you talk to your seamstress about that? Did she say it was doable? I think either neckline would be beautiful.

I agree with the ladies on leaving the train down for the pictures. It will look very pretty in the photos if your train is down. I was thinking the same thing. I really don’t want people stepping on my train.
TammyM, I am jealous that only 3 people are going to wedding! That is soooo cool!

I bustled it right after the ceremony. I was going to keep it bustled the whole time, but my BMs voted no. I did get one photo with it down on the beach that I do really love so it's worth a few movement shots. |

Oops - I didn't paste my photo link correctly the first time (see below post, the photo will now show up).
TammyM, no, I did not take photos with him before. He insisted that the first time he see me was when I walked down the aisle. I have to say, looking back, I wouldn't have wanted to see him before either. It was much better his way.
