Welcome dinner ideas?

I want to plan a welcome dinner for my guests. I was thinking of just having them put tables together at Portofina restaurant or maybe one of the other restaurants. Does anyone know if there is an estra cost to that? Also, I saw on a thread something about a mexican theme dinner for a welcome/rehearsal dinner. Is that a separate cost? If so, how much is it? And where do you have the buffet dinner? Also any other ideas for a welcome dinner(at the resort), please share...

There is a charge for "private dining" at the restaurant. Unfortunately, i can't recall the cost. You could take your chances by just inviteing guests down at a particular time but location of all tables cannot be guaranteed.

I am hosting a welcome dinner on the beach with the Carribean menu and mexican decor. There is an additional charge of $22pp to set up this private area.

If I didn't want food, or were looking to conserve costs I would totally ask guests to meet at the Lobby bar for drinks and arrange for chips/ guac. Basically, you can't really avoid a charge for a private function (of $22pp).
