Bahia Principie DR- hol review and wedding set up pictures

We arrived home only a few hours ago so after a nap i wanted to post my reviews and honest opinions on the weddings i saw whilst there.HERE goes

We paid £1,500 pound for the two of us for a week of all inclusive rest and eating and boy the scales tell the whole truth the food was great.We arrived in the afternoon and were greeted at the airport with traditional dancers our luggage arrived quickly and we were soon on the bus.We had heard the road down to the resort was bad Paul felt a little sick but hey he feels sick when i drive so not really a problem.We checked in on the coach fab idea and were given our room keys etc.However when we arrived we were asked to go to the desk and were given a different room not an upgrade.We didnt challenge it.THE RESORT IS HUGE.Ill explain more later.We sat on a little cart that took us and our luggage to our rooms, after we were given a welcome drink.We loved our room18201 the place was spotless these people work so hard.We had a massive bed ?queen and wicker furniture and a seating area and then a table and chair set on the balcony and we got the flowers around the whirlpool bath and towel decorations.The gardens are supurb.If you are thinking you will get a sea view you WILL be disappointed MOST dont have it .If that is what you want dont take a chance on this hotel choose somewhere else.Even the rooms by the sea are postioned so you dont get the ocean.Thats my only moan i requested a sea view i had more chance of winning the lottery last week and i didnt buy a ticket.!!!!!!!!

The resort is made up of four maybe five areas punta cana,bavaro(mirror images) and ambar adults only $50 a couple per nite to upgade.Our travel agents dont sell ambar.It looks wonderfull well worth the extra we spoke with a canadian and he said it was well worth the extra,scented pillows more choices in the mini bar chocolates turn down service and im sure lots more.We walked through there one evening and there was a lovely ambiance and one of the restuarants was right by the sea not an opition on our side.

Anyone who complains about the food herE needs a good kick up the butt.There was such a wide selection and the waiting staff were so attentive.We ate way to much and drank far to many pina coladas and banana mammas.oh sorry theres also diamond they had there own pool which was a bit quieter but was just opposite us and then there was royal golden not sure id be happy here it seemed so far away from everything

I went to find the wedding coodinator as promised and she printed out some info for me im sorry i didnt get costings for extras though nor did i get the spa prices i asked at reception if they could get them and they said no i needed to go over there, thanks very much !!! we were waiting to get picked up for the airport so i didnt do it sorry

Ok my honest unbiased opinions of three weddings i saw.

wedding on the beach in the morning they set up the chairs with white coversand ribbons(I ONLY SAW PINK AND ORANGE) the arch looked a little tired but they added flowers and it looked pretty.In my opinion the flowers are not great you will see them afterwards decorating the pool bars mainly daisys the smaller ones as fillers and the odd rose or lily.If you dont want hawkers dont get married here.There is no guarantee your gunna get beautiful people in your wedding pics BUT they will become your guest.Ifound myself gettind annoyed that they thought it was ok to plonk there sun bed right next to the guests chairs i have the pics to prove.

My advise be very strict with the wedding coordinator the second wedding they taped of an area but in my opinion not enough it was yellow and attatched to sun loungers.This would of worked had they not removed it just before the bride arrived .see if you can bring some ribbon in your colours to mark out the area and keep it there cos once the bride reached the arch it was a free for all fat bellies everywhere.We all love a wedding but this felt wrong so much so we didnt hang around, i wanted to see her dress and was ashamed to be there really with the way people had no respect.

WEDDING 2 ON THE BEACH

orange chair tie were added and the arch was given a lift with more palm leaves added ASK FOR THIS TO BE DONE

this was the wedding that everyone made a dash for like running for the bride!!!!!!!!!!

WEDDING 3 AT THE WEDDING GAZEBO

This wedding seemed more formal and after a very small rain shower the wedding got under way.The wedding coordinator was placing flowers on the mums wrists as the weding was underway.I stayed to watch alongside other guests but we could not be seen in photos as there was a hedge that was separating the road way,youll see by the photos what i mean. Only downside here was that the little shuttle bus things drove by during the ceremony and to me it felt a bit like universal studios with people taking pics the carts are diesel and noisey get the coordinator to halt the bus whilst you are doing your vows.

WHAT I WOULD DO

Go tropical with the flowers,anthirums and bird off paradise,simple but beautiful.I didnt like the flowers at all.I dont think many girls would pick them if they were at home no offence to anyone here.I would deffo do parasols for the bridesmaids no one had them and they would of looked fab even for the lady guests.DEFFO get the beach marked out and i would do the basket with flipflops because there were shoes littered around.I think i would do the beach but only if i could be sure that it would be without so many uninvited.I would do the ceremony at 5.30 less peeps on the beach and it wasnt getting dark till 7.45 i would try and get las olas, cos it closes about then and whilst your having photos taken they can simply move the chairs from the beach up there and you get the ocean and your not sharing with anyone else.

You will see from the gazebo wedding the groom had a flower garland around his neck i loved that.I would ask my guests to pick there outfit to match my wedding colours ie hot pink/pink turquoise/blue so they feel part of the wedding there were lots of black and they must of been cooking.

I would do the cheapest wedding package and ask that the flowers from the wedding arch are moved to the reception and if i couldnt get las olas id try and get the buffet.The guests at all the events were waiting around a loooooooooonnnnng time before the bride arrived like an hour in the heat not sure they needed to be there so soon as the venues were still being set up the PA was the last along with the flowers.I would pick this hotel for my wedding in a heartbeat BUT if you have lots of guests it will be hard to stay in touch try to get rooms in blocks VERY near if you dont want them in the same block we think there was 16 rooms in a block.

Wow - thank you for this great review!! I haven't seen many reviews on this resort and this is where we've booked to get married. Well - we've booked the trip...I'm having problems as far as booking the actual wedding...the wedding coordinator isn't getting back to me, which has me slightly worried.

 

I noticed you said you wouldn't want to stay in the Club Golden section. EEK! That's the section we booked. We were told it's closest to the beach and it's close to everything - is this not true??
