Finally found our Sand Ceremony kit ... and in an unusual place...*pics in post #10*

Recommended Posts

So, FI and I had been talking about the Sand Ceremony for awhile and he (surprisingly) agreed to it right away. We'd been looking online at sets and really just hadn't "fallen in love" with any of them ...

So, because our wedding is in like, 3 weeks, we were running out of time to order a set online! So, last night we hit the town to try and find something we could use at a local store. First stop was Pier 1 Imports ... and wow were we ever lucky!

We found the perfect "set" of 3 glass vases (and I tried to find them online, but they don't have the pics so I'll post pics when I get home tonight). And while they are plan, I hit up our local art store right away and found some great organza ribbon, a few beads, a Swarovski heart and some fishing wire and I'll be DIYing these vases into a beautiful Sand Ceremony kit! And we got teal and white sand to mix together and we're going to top it off with sand from the beach where we are.

Oh and the three vases cost us $55 CDN .... quite a good deal if you ask me!!

I promise pics tonight ladies!

I don't know why I can't edit the first post ... but here are the pics!

So, I don't have a glue gun (yet) so I just taped the ribbons on to show you girls what I want to do ... and the middle one, I'm a bit unsure of how to combine the two colored ribbons ... any suggestions would be welcomed!! You girls are DIY queens so I trust your suggestions!!

Oh and sorry about the quality of the images ... I can never make my camera work at night ...

And here's my question for you girls. Should I DIY our initials (just first names) on our respective sand vases with these diamond sticky thingies??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
