BDW Biggest Loser: Season 6 ~ Official Thread ~ FINAL RESULTS POSTED!! (#869)

Recommended Posts

Since there are quite a few people interested in the 6th season of BDW Biggest Loser, I thought I'd start a thread for you all. Normally, I don't set the rules or come up with the entry fee, I let you all decide on that before things get started, so this is the thread to discuss all of the rules and the entry fee.

Here are the rules from Season 5 - if you'd like something to change, that's fine, but let's get the rules nailed down before the start of the season so it's clear to all who enter! Let me know (via PM in case I miss it in this thread) if the rules need to change. It's probably best to update the rules here in this post so they're clear to everyone involved.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ANY RULES AND/OR DATES CHANGED FOR THIS SEASON OR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Anyone wanting to participate in BL5 can PM me (AnnR) and/or PayPal me the entry fee to <email address removed>. I need to reiterate NO CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. If necessary, cash or personal check will be accepted via mail.

BDW Biggest Loser VI will start on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009, this will be the initial weigh in - at which point you will send me your starting weight along with a photo of proof. This season will last 12 weeks, with the final weigh-in on 7/8/2009. Each subsequent Wednesday, you will send me your weight and photo before the end of the day. Weigh-ins can be sent via email, PM, text message - whatever! As long as you send it some time on Wednesday and include your screen name, weight, and a photo, it counts.

Sign-ups will go through end of the day Tuesday, April 14th, 2009. So please PM me (AnnR) that you are going to participate and/or send me the sign up fee, and then post up here to let everyone know you're joining.

- Entry fee $15
- Sign up and pay by Tuesday, April 14th, 2009
- Contest starts on Wednesday, April 15th, 2009
- Contest last 12 weeks, ending on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009
- The winner gets the pot

What you need to do ...
1. send me (AnnR) a PM to let me know you're interested, and/or just PayPal the entry fee to <email address removed> (NO Credit Cards please!).
2. PLEASE include your BDW username with your payment! If you want a weekly email reminder for the weigh-ins, please also let me know the email address you'd like me to use.
3. You will take a before pic (keep it in your files)
4. Every Wednesday starting on the start date (see above), PM AnnR your weight. To keep it fair take a pic of the scale and send it to Ann as well. If the number on the scale isn't clear, please also type in the weight in your message.
5. On the last day of the contest (see above), take a photo and post before and after on this thread. If Ann does not receive your weigh in on that day, you are not eligible to win.
6. Ann will calculate percentage of weight loss from week-to-week (for fun and motivation), as well as the overall loss.
7. The one who lost the most weight in terms of % loss at the end of twelve weeks wins the pot!
8. If you do not send in your weight on time for 2 weeks in a row w/o letting Ann know in advance that you're out that week, you will be disqualified.
9. For any and all communication for this contest, please send me a PM or email if it's something that requires my attention. I do my best to keep up on this thread, but I do miss things so your best bet is to send me a PM or email.
10. If you are banned from the forum for any reason, you could also be disqualified from the competition and your money will not be refunded. (aded 6/21/2009)

This sounds so fun and this would give me some much needed motivation...I'm just thinking if we're doing this strictly scale-wise, I won't be much of a competitor as I lift a lot of weights (and I'm told muscle weighs more than fat). Are we allowed to enter if we use personal training? What does the entry fee cover? Sorry for all the dumb questions, just wondering how it all works.

Thanks!

You can have a personal trainer, lots of the girls who have done this have had one. The $15 is kind of a small incentive to win, gives a little motivation when the winner could win $300+ I think one season was around $600!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
