Anyone have the just the 2 of you for the wedding???

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I are looking to get married in mexico at an all inclusive but really neither of our families can travel due to health and financial reasons. I was wondering if anyone else is having a DW with just the 2 of you and then going back for a reception at home with family and friendshuh.gif

I must say that my situation is a little different also. I am a widow who just 4 years ago had a beautiful big themed colors, etc wedding and just want this one to be romantic and simple and no fuss - but still beautiful and memorable.

thanks...

Hi, I would like to exchange information with people who have had weddings with just the bride and groom. All of the other threads are very helpful but seem like different preparations etc... I would like to hear from others what they are planning and what preparations I should be making if any. What you're wedding was like? For example, do you still walk up with the guy waiting with the minister or do you just walk up togetherhuh.gif What you do after since there is no reception? How much of the day does it take up? I just want to know EVERYTHING. I am getting married at the caves in negril with just us June 17th and am trying to find info about the caves wedding specifically but am not getting replies. I guess not that many caves brides..So anyone who is having or has had a just the two of you destination wedding would be awesome, ANY info.

I know I can ask the wedding coordinator but would like info from other brides...And I am sure once I get there I will be asking myself why in the world I was so anxious. It is just so fun to talk about and I am so exited.

I am!!! Ahem...I mean WE are... My situation is just the opposite, though. My husband and I are renewing our vows, but since we got married at the courthouse 19 years ago, I didn't get the things I wanted, like the dress cake, pictures etc. So this time we're going all out! But it'll be just for us! It's OUR day...and since you can't force adults to do what you want them to do (i.e.sit down, play nice, not cause any undue stress and not complain) Our entire budget is being spent on the things that I want. So since we don't have to worry about feeding guests, or buying gifts for our bridal party. I can spend more on a bigger photo pkg, take some excursions, etc.I've been told we're being selfish but hey?? In the end it's what you want anyway...

Enjoy yourself, your way you deserve it, you're entitled... and don't feel bad...

Oh sorry just re-read your message ... I'm not even doing the AHR...Maybe I got a lil' excited to read that someone else is just going for a 2 person party DW...

This is literally my exact story except I'll be doing it for my 10th anniversary next year. I don't want the stress of paying for a lot of people and all that, I just want to go on a nice vacation and renew my vows while I'm there. So that's exactly what I'll be doing. And since it's just us, we'll make it extra nice and come back with some beautiful pictures for everyone to see.

ksryan, sorry for your loss. So happy that you've found love again and congrats on your upcoming wedding :)

We are having the DW just the 2 of us in Mexico also, with a casual reception at our home when we return. Knowing not all our immediate family could attend, made it an easy decision.

Wow is so nice to see I'm not the only one doing this. I keep making myself stressed about doing it like this. I decided to do it this way because I realized planning a big wedding was just too much stress and not to mention MOney!! I will be having a little get-together reunion with just family and very close friends when I returned. Any ideas on how to plan it? I have been in contact with my coordinator at Secrets Maroma where I will be doing my symbolic ceremony as my fiancee and I will have a civil wedding before that. Are you having music? any other things that I should consider being that it's just the 2 of us?

Well, my husband and I are going to renew our vows and my plan is to have the ceremony in the evening and then have dinner on the beach as our reception. There won't be any music or anything. We just want a relaxing vacation, and a nice vow renewal and then to just have a romantic dinner on the beach. and that's pretty much it. Oh, and my plan is to walk alone to the altar, with my husband there waiting.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
