Booking online or with TA?

Which is cheaper to book the all inclusive hotel?

Most TA can try to price match or even beat the price. Also there is more flexibility like payment plans, etc. And if your guests have questions need special assistance do you think they will get that on the internet sites

 

Try one of BDW TA's as rhey have a lot of destination wedding experience.

I have been wondering the same thing and am happy to hear that most TA's will try to match a price if not beat it. I Am so glad I found this website..I've only been on for like 48 hrs and so many of my questions are already being answered!!

I had a wierd experience. We worked with one for about five weeks who kept telling us she knew she knew she had the best rates....we put more than a thousand dollars into the trip only for me to get a wild hair and decide to take a look online. Well...right off the bat, BOOM...found the same trip, same FLIGHTS, same date, rooms etc...for almost $600 less. Something was wrong.

 

I emailed her to point it out to her, she got back to me the same day and I will say she kept trying to work with us. She kept saying she thought maybe I wasn't plugging in the exact same info. I was. Finally, I just told her to go look for herself, and when she did she was gracious enough to tell me that try as she might she couldn't get her tour operator to match it or even come close.

 

No moral to this story...just an experience. I'd still like to work with a TA for my wedding for the sake of guest convenience. I just don't think theres any hard and fast rule about what's cheaper, online sites vs. travel agents across the board. Most likely just depends on the situation and agent.

I've been wondering what a TA for a destination wedding actually provides. I would imagine it would be more than just a travel agent booking a trip for two. Do they talk to the wedding cordinator, able to get ahold of if guests have questions about booking, group rates, additional information about wedding planning at that particular resort? etc. Having an experienced person as the middle man would take so much weight off of my shoulders!

I booked through expedia.

I have booked with them ove 10 times now..Never had any poblems..

Most TA will take care of talking with the coodinator on your behalf, answering questions your guest may have, and organizing everyone's travel. There are some benefits but if you have the time and feel like doing it all yourself you can. I think it depends on your situation. I am giving my TA information to my guest and letting them know that they can book through the hotel or any other site they would like to. The other thing you have to consider is if you are getting a group rate based on a certain amount of people/rooms you will need all your guest to book in order for you to comply with that number of people/rooms. Thanks for the advice! We havent decided if we will work with a TA or not. Good to know they will match or beat prices!
