We have a choice of either having our photographer shoot our welcome dinner on the beach at Tabasco's (will include slideshow) or the RD on the boat.
The welcome dinner is 6-9 pm and is a little more casual but we have the whole restaurant to ourselves.
The RD is from 5:00-7:30 (we will catch the sunset and possibly see some whales) but I am unsure about how close the quarters will be. The boat can accomodate around 150, and I think we have 125ish coming.
which would you choose and why?
eta our photographer said that the light will be good for both, and did not have an opinion as to which he would prefer to shoot.

Hmmmm I say the RD, just because I think the lighting will be better and I think you could get some great photos on the boat.

i do think the boat sounds nice but i shot a RD on a boat in the bahamas once and it was very difficult because the boat was overcrowded. if youre not worried about over crowding then the boat would be a nice change :)

I think the RD because I feel like on the boat there's a lot more chance for overcrwding or even rocking which may interfere with the pics... BUT I would definitely assign at least one friend with a good camera and a good eye to take tons of pics on the boat too...
hmmm... ok, I'm not sure... this is a tough one. Maybe the boat is better because it's so different from the wedding reception... ok, that was no help at all.

I voted for the boat. I think the pictures will be a lot different than your wedding reception pictures, so you'll have more of a mix. Not to mention, if you do see some whales, you could get some awesome shots!

I voted for the restaurant only because a boat might have some bland colors (other than sunset). Blue water and white boat. Whereas a building might have a more festive, colorful atmosphere and just a more dynamic setting. But maybe I am biased because I get extremely seasick and would just imagine myself turning green on a boat (not photogenic!)

The reason why I voted for the welcome dinner is because I think the mood will be more relaxed and at ease. The boat would be nice but I know I would get sea sick so I wouldn't want a pic of me puking off the side. LOL
just kidding!
