Default Bonfires

Is it OK to have a bonfire on the beach? I have read about the Cabos girls having them after their rehearsal dinners, but I haven't seen anything for the RM brides.
Another couple of questions. We need some non-resort sites for the rehearsal dinner. Any suggestions on restaurants?
Finally, Maggie and Tadd are going to the RM on April 19 to do some scouting of resorts. Should they make appointments with the hotels they are interested in before they arrive? Or can they just visit the resorts and ask for the WC if they want information?

Again, I thank you all for your help.

Not sure about your specific questions regarding RM bonfire. BUT in regards to setting an appointment with a resort ahead of time. Here is my suggestion.. IF the resort is AI, it's probably best that you set up an appointment, because they may not allow you on their property. Plus if you don't set up an appointment ahead of time you run the risk of possibly a WC not being able to meet with you to go over the site and answer your questions.

Hope this helps, I'm sure the RM girls will chime in on your other question

i'm not sure if this is true or not, but i read that they don't allow bonfires or fire dancers on the beach in PDC anymore, because one hotel caught on fire when a firedancer lost control of his baton, and it set fire to the roofs of the palapas and the hotel...

like i said... i'm not sure if its true... but its what i heard...

as for making appointments for a scouting trip... definitely making them before you head down... the security guards at the gates of the big all-inclusives will give you a hard time if you're not a guest of the resort... and if there isn't anyone to show you around, you probably won't be able to check out the property...

I think Tammy is right. If you make an appointment, and let them know you are scouting for your wedding, they might be able to have the WC on hand. I would LOVE to have a bonfire after our welcome dinner!! We are getting married at RIU Palace Las Americas, but unfortunately, a bonfire has never even been mentioned as an option.....I don't know if they can do this...maybe it is only certain resorts that don't allow them...maybe a hotel that doesn't have palpas would let you?

PDC has had alot of beach issues with erosion/hurricane etc...i think it really depends on where you want it and what the hotel policy is...i do not think you can have one on the public beach.
