The Brazilian SUGAR wax..it is the best!!!

I've been meaning write this post for a while now because I know there are other brides thinking about getting the good ol Brazilian wax...after having never gotten waxed on any body part before, about a month ago I got a brazilian sugar wax, not your typical wax, because apparently it is supposed to be much less painful. rolleyes.gif

Here's the explaination of sugar waxing: Body Sugaring -- Body sugar does not contain petrochemicals or preservatives. It is made of sugar, lemon and water. Body sugar is applied much cooler than hot wax. When applied properly, body sugar is only warm, never burns the skin. Body sugar does not adhere to live skin cells and is gentle to the skin. It only removes hair and exfoliates dead skin cells, this means less discomfort and less trauma to the skin.

Now mind you, I had only shaved (down there) once in my life because the regrowth drove me crazy itchy, like a male athlete itchy, lol. cheesy.gif So of course, I was scared outta my mind about the possibilty of pain but my MOH told me the sugar wax was a breeze and a very clean process.

Admittedly, there were times I freaking wanted to scream out "KELLY CLARKSON!!" like in 40-year-old Virgin, censored.gif hahahah, but before I knew it, the process was done and I was beautifully brazilianed!!! woot.gif

I highly recommend sugar waxing for any body parts ~ I plan to get another brazilian before the wedding along with my legs and underarms so I can be smooth during our time in Mexico! wink.gif

If you are in the So Cal area, Irina in Long Beach is fabulous and reasonably priced. Here's her salon website: Welcome to Aesthetics by Irina

I've had a sugar wax on my eyebrows, and I LOVE it. The results last WAY longer, and the pain is a tiny bit better (it still hurt me a bit though because of the way they have to do it). After the wax my skin actually felt soft, instead of scabbing up the way I would after a normal wax. I don't think I'll go back to normal wax on my eyebrows now. I've never waxed anywhere else though! Yet...

Afterwards it honestly did not hurt at all, I mean nothing! I did do the aspirin an hour before like everyone advises and I think that helped. It really is only the actual process that can cause discomfort, but my "waxer" told me the first time is always the worst. Def. get someone who is reputable and recommended, I think it helps to get someone who knows what they're doing!

Thanks for the compliment, its one of my favs of me and FI wink.gif

My friends, all of whom have gotten waxed regularly, say the sugar wax was much less painful. Also it didn't leave them sore -- they all agree it's the way to go! rolleyes.gif

Carly, believe me I was so scared, I couldn't sleep before the "big wax day". It was a little bit of a shocking feeling, yanno having someone strip you down there, but it was such a quick process and so worth it! In less than 10 minutes I was all done and so happy I did it! cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
