Were planning our DW at Beaches Negril. We have a tentative wedding date of December 2nd 2009. We would be leaving from Ontario on November 29th for 7 days. I'm really anxious to hear all about your experience and to see some of your pictures.

We have approximately 20 guests coming with us. Were curious what your guests had to pay for a week at Beaches. Were still looking for the best prices possible so any help from you with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Yay Amanda! Thank you for starting this thread. You've been such a big help so far and this will be good for us. I too am a fellow Beaches Negril bride, getting married May 16, 2009 (less than 4 months, Yikes!). We have 18 people coming to Jamaica. Right now I'm trying to decide if we should do the private reception? I'm also trying to organize an excursion for all our guests as a "thank you". We have a wide age range 11 months to 71 years old, so any ideas are appreciated.

Also, Amanda did you get the video? This would be nice to have to show everyone who didn't make it, but I was wondering about the quality?

Hi Ladies,

Looking for all information for a Beaches Negril wedding. Do you have pics of the reception areas etc. I was originally planning a Riviera Maya wedding - but we just got back from a vacation there and Jamaica was way more beautiful when I was there a few years ago so switching gears.... anyway January 29, 2010 is my tentative date and I am starting over with planning - thinking Beaches Negril for a week (with our families including my 2 kids ages 10 and 13) and then 4 days at Sandals Negril for our "honeymoon" any information is sooo appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!!

Nicole

YAY girls I am soooo excited for you ALL!!!!!!

I have hit the post wedding hump.. so I am super excited to help you in any way that I can.

Jackie -

You are soooooooo welcome... I thought that my email was super long winded .. but I hope that I got it all across to you in a reasonable sense. My flip flops I actually embellished myself. I bought plain platform one from Vicki's and then went to the craft store and bought the do dads for it. Super easy to do and I have some stuff still left if you want to try your own hand at it. It was random and I found the chiffon petal ribbon before even the shoes..LOL

Melissa -

I saw and talked with so many of the other brides, some had wonderful private receptions and others .. well I thought honestly they were wayyyyy overdone for my liking. You can email me if you want more... But I went with the 30 min which was over an hr cocktail reception at a private location.. it was super cheap and did the trick in keeping with it feeling formal without breaking the bank...

We can def go into this more!! I will bring this up later... I'm off now time to leave work..

K I am home now

To finish Melissa's questions -

The reasoning for taking the lightly upgraded cocktail hr was because well, I am paying for all this food because it is an AI and then they want more on top for stuff that I know most of my guests would prob not be interested in.. 75PP seemed just to much for me to justify and that is why I went with better upgrades for my flowers and more items in the OOT bags. I will say the Mill is a great buffet for everyone to eat at. And most of us at their every night for dinner, besides the Thursday Beach Party, and our HM dinner they offer. Andrea (jamaican WC) was beyond great and reset everything from our cocktail hr inside the resturaunt which actually I was told they prob wouldn't be able to do .. but SURPRISE they did.

As for an excursion I would prob maybe think about Rick's for an off site early dinner and jumping (if you dare). Rick's was fun and I saw people of every age there. You can contact Rick's directly to set up a reservation for a table set up and get a quote from them on better pricing... in Jamaica off site places will always work with you.. so try and and you will be happy. Also, if you get to Rick's around 4ish ... when sunset hits you will have AMAZING sunsets.. but you get that at the resort too .. but it had me going to see it from the view with the cliffs. Margaritaville is small ... alot smaller than I thought.. but it was still a fun night.. we went during our HM week. They have seating, but not a ton and all the tables were rounds.. So standing and dancing is pretty much in order there with a yard glass in your hand.. LOL On another thought... which I will tell you (Miami WC Amber) will not be able to give you times for things that you really want. But all the Negril Resorts have set days for traveling to each of these hot spots.. So both places can be "hopping".

Yes we went with the videography/photo package.. "The Tropical ?? Something" for 1800 I think it was. I am going to try and get it up on youtube to help everyone out to actually see the end result... I am super happy with everything ... the video makes me cry still... even after watching it with everyone at home at least a good 20 times now. Honeslty, Jay didn't want one .. he said the people who couldn't make it would just have to deal with it ... but I convinced him it was worth it when we met with Andrea and he is too very happy with the outcome. I will let you know as soon as I can attempt to get it up on you tube.

I think that's it for now ...

Keep on sending the questions

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
