Hello Ladies,

My Wedding Day is approaching quickly and I am now in contact with the WC. I thought I would share what I have so far. I have attached the latest documentation provided by Kenekia. I have also attached recent pics of a few Restaurants at the Resort. I will follow this up with another attachment of wedding pics at the resort....sorry but I reached the max on this thread.

Ok, here is the other attachment. Please read this for more info from Kenekia:

We use three of our Ala Cart Restaurants for wedding receptions. However, it depends on the amount of wedding guest in the group.

The Hakuchi Restaurant can only accommodate a group of 8paxs per seating. The first seating begins at 6:30pm-8:30pm and second seating (9pm-10:30pm)

The Rimini (Italian) restaurant can only accommodate a group of 6paxs. The first seating begins at 6:30pm-8:30pm and second seating (9pm-10:30pm).

The Steak House can accommodate approximately 100paxs. The seating times are from 6:30pm-8:30pm and 9pm-10:30pm for the restaurants. The Steak House is the only restaurants that can be rented out.

The Steak House is the only restaurant that can be rented out. To rent the Steak House restaurant for the entire evening, the cost is US$1200.00 for four hours and for two hours, the cost is US$700.The rental can only be confirm based on availability. There will be a charge (50% of the amount) if you wish to cancel upon arrival. Please be advised that all prices are subject to change without notice. Please see the attached menus for the restaurants and advise as soon possible which one you want me to book for you.

More questions from myself with answers from Kenekia:

1. Will we have access to a microphone and somewhere to play music at dinner or can we hire a DJ to play our music if the area is private?..ONCE YOU HAVE A PRIVATE DINNER YOU WILL HAVE TO HIRE A BAND OR DJ AND A MICROPHONE WILL BE PROVIDED.....

2. I would also like more information on a possible private area we can occupy to continue to celebrate after the reception dinner for dancing, bouquet/garter toss etc. Is there any other place available besides the Disco?...WE NO LONGER HAVE A DISCO ON PROPERTY...THEREFORE THE OTHER OPTION WOULD BE IN THE RESTAURANT......

3. I would also like to know what the contingency plan is if it rains. ...IF IT RAINS WE USE THE TERRACE AT OUR MAIN RESTAURAT....PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS AREA WON'T BE DECORATED.....

4. I am interested in the Garden Gazebo for the wedding but wondering if that area can accommodate about 50 people or more. I was thinking we could stand in front of the Gazebo to perform the wedding so that everyone could see and hear everything. Please advise if that would be possible. Would you email me a picture of the area in front of the Gazebo?...PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THERE IS AN AREA HOST APPROXIMATELY 100-150 PEOPLE...ONCE IT IS A BIG GROUP WE ALWAYS USE A MICROPHONE SO THAT EVERY ONE CAN HERE THE CEREMONY...PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURE OF THE GAZEBO...ALSO WE DECORATE THE SITE BY USING AVAILABLE FLOWERS FROM THE GARDEN....

5. I am also interested in the steel band for 1 hour during the ceremony. Do they have a play list?...NO, THEY ALWAYS PLAY A MIXTURES OF SONGS SUCH AS REGGAE, SOULS, AND OTHER CARIBBEAN SONGS..THEY ARE VERY GOOD....

6. Would you email some pictures of how the cake will look and if there are different flavors to choose from?.....PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE CAKE IS A STANDARD 2 LAYER CAKE IN WHICH YOU WILL HAVE A CHOICE OF CHOCOLATE, VANILLA OR AMERICAN FRUIT AND IT WILL BE COVERED WITH WHITE FROSTING...I DON'T HAVE ANY PICTURE AT THIS TIME TO SEND TO YOU BUT AS SOON AS I RECIEVED THIS I WILL EMAIL YOU...

Thanks for the info! I have started conversation with Keneika too and have booked the steakhouse for our dinner - not private though, we only have about 30 people with us.

I was wondering about a private area to continue the celebrating (love how that sounds!) and she told me this:

I could arrange for you to be on the beach for 1hr( cannot exceed this time) and you may have a band there as well. You will have to rent tiki torches if you wish to do this. You can also have a cocktail hour, presently the cost is US$250.00( PRICE CAN BE CHANGED WITHOUT NOTICE). Please be advised that the cocktail hour is done outdoor at the wedding location site or on the beach..Included are alcohol and non-alcohol cocktail...To rent tiki torches it is approximately US$15 each ( prices are subject to change without notice.)

I thought this might be nice for everyone to visit before the older guests head to bed and the younger ones head over to RIU Negril to the Disco.

I will also try to add info if it's different from anything you have. I really appreciate the pictures. There are some new reviews on Trip Advisor now with pictures from after the renos.

Good luck!!

Hi ladies,

I was married at the RTB before it was the palace (July 15/0cool.gif. We had our dinner in the Steakhouse. We didn't rent it out, but we (33 of us) were sort of off to our own anyway away from the other guests. We were married on a Tuesday and there was a beach party that night, so we all changed then went to that.

I have a picture of the free cake. I will try to post it. There was enough for us to each have a piece, but don't expect cake like you get at home. It was okay, but nothing exceptional.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
