We have been looking for flutes for a LONG time. We just can't seem to find some that both of us like. Although we did see a set that was personalized w/ just the first letter of their last name, and we really liked this. We thought it looked a little nicer than have both of our names and a wedding date. So, I decided to etch my own. It's actually a bit harder than it sounds. Mostly just time consuming to get it perfect.

Our last name starts w/ a G so I just put a G on the flute, we're going to glue the small starfish on w/ a fuschia ribbon.

All in all, we really think its worth it. I bought the flutes from Pier 1 for $2 each. I spent $5 on the etching cream. I then just printed out the g and taped it onto contact paper. Put the contact paper on the flute, used a small utility knife to cut out the g. then removed the cut out g from the contact paper and smeared etching cream all over it wait a couple minutes and wash it off. VOILA!

We really like it, and it only cost $9 to do the set. We're thinking about doing 8 more for the entire bridal party, and then we'll have a set of 10 champagne flutes for our house. And, they won't have the wedding date etc, it will just elegantly have a g on them.

Here is the one I did last night

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
