I need Victoria Bitter.....

Hey girls.... So we went to Australia this summer and my FSIL fell in love with Victoria Bitter. She first tried it cause her name is Victoria but then loved it. She enlisted in the Marines this fall and is graduating in a couple weeks. She gets home just before Christmas. FI and I are wanting to surprise her with Victoria Bitter to drink Christmas day. Although, its not FDA approved and can't be sold in the US, you have to order from somewhere else and have it delivered. I know its sold in Canada, so I was wondering if any canadian girls, or the few australian girls would be able to get a 24 pk of the stubbie bottles and ship it to me, of course I would pay for all of it.

TIA!!!

Hey there- I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. but I think that you may be out of luck. My BRo went there also and fell in love with the beer too. The alc content is higher than here, and something about that and the packaging, no package stores carry it.. Or RARELY any. I went to a wine tasting once in San Fran CA and they had it- I freaked! I think that you can get it shipped from there, but it was crazy expensive. The guy there was telling me that it is very hard to get your hands on VB in the states. I wanted to get my Bro some also - but it wasn't worth it. And you know what I don't even have the name of the wine place we went to. It was like a weird dream. Sorry. If you get any luck - let me know!

Thank you girls! I know you can have it UPS or FEDEX, I've heard of people having it shipped from Canada. Specifically Vancouver. I know Molson sells it. The alcohol content shouldn't have anything to do with it. VB has 4.8% and wine is much more than that and you can have wine shipped. I will call them tomorrow and see what they say! I expect it to be expensive. To just have something the weight of 24 beers is expensive to just ship.

I googled before but not specifically for san fransisco, all I found were several forums of people asking the same question and never getting an answer. I knew I could count on BDW girls!

I will let you know what they say tomorrow.

So I contacted Cellar 360 in SF. Their license doesn't allow them to ship beer, just wine so that's why they can't ship it. If you go down to the winery in SF you can buy it.

Island Princess and I have talked, but I'm hoping one of the canadian girls can get it for me, or if someone in SF might be able to go down and pick it up?... Just cause shipping from Australia is a couple hundred $$$.

If you can help PLEASE let me know.... I would be forever in debt to you!

Hi there! I would totally love to help you out, but I"m at crunch time right now - we leave in 3 days! I won't be back until the 15th of December and Canada Post workers are on strike... so I would worry it wouldn't get to you.

There are a few other CDN girls on this site. PM them - there are 2 Heathers, etc.

Good luck!

If you still need help when I get back, PM me and maybe you can make her up a little 'gift certificate' for when they arrive? :)

it's strange how the rules with beer & wine are different. my state had a cap on the alcohol content in beer that was much lower than wine. luckily people got it changed, but it took years & a lot of work.

I can go look in our liquor stores here in Vancouver and area and see if I see it.. I'll let you know if I find it!

I too would be a bit worried about shipping it to the states.. there are so many regulations for this kind of thing.. heh. But let me see if I can find it first!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
