I recently ordered 5 photobooks of our wedding pictures for our family. I had both snapfish & shutterfly coupon codes, so it's a great opportunity to compare the two.

Short review- Shutterfly books are all around better

Cover- The shutterfly cover is sturdier at the end of the book with the binding. other than that they are the same.

I ordered both leather & satin covers. I really prefer the satin. my favorite cover type is the photocover, but that is not available for the 8.5 x 11 size.

Inside- the shutterfly book has a black cover page & last page. it is not in the snapfish book. The binding in the shutterfly book is slightly exposed.

print quality- the shutterfly colors are more vibrant and the pictures are much sharper. on some pictures in the snapfish book, the print has subtle stripes in the color.

page thickness- the shutterfly pages are thicker.

shipping speed- i ordered the snapfish books 2-3 days earlier & they arrived on the same day. both were very fast. I think it took less than a week to get them in.

Overall the shutterfly book wins every catagory. I am VERY happy with the quality of every shutterfly book I've bought. This was the first snapfish book I've ordered. I am not dissapointed because I got it for 1 cent. I do still think it's a nice product, but I will not order books from them again unless it's a great price.

I will be ordering an MPIX book of my wedding pictures eventually so I can then compare that to shutterfly.

Thanks for the review Morgan. cheer2.gifI'll definitely use Shutterfly for the albums that I have left to make for other family members.

I used MyPublisher for our personal wedding album & loved the outcome but Shutterfly may be more cost effective for the other albums that I have to make.

I also can't wait for your review of Mpix.

I just ordered a photobook from Shutterfly with pictures of my parents' 50th anniversary celebration - Morgan's photobook was my inspiration and gave me the confidence to try it. (Yes, Morgan, I'm STILL "borrowing" your ideas!) My parents loved it and have about worn it out looking at it! As Morgan said, the pages are thick and the quality is great. I chose to use the photo cover. I do wish there was an option to design your own pages in addition to using their templates for inserting pictures. There are many backgrounds to choose from, but by the time I chose them for all the pages, I was wishing for more.

good to know, but kinda sucks since i usually use snapfish for everything (usually comes out cheaper for me with pre-paid print credits). thanks for your review tho ... i have never made a photobook from any service and was wondering about page thickness, photo quality, etc. i intend to make books for myself, and both sets of parents after the wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
