I haven't decided yet... What do you think of the Barcelo so far? Have you had any problems? It looks like a really nice resort.

I absolutely love the Barcelo - I think I said this before but I was there last year and fell in love with it - it's just beautiful! The services is great, the food is great, there's so much to do, it's just awesome!
No problems at all so far, everything's been so easy and smooth! (except maybe that the WC's are a little slow at getting back to me, but they're swamped with weddings right now so I don't complain)

It looks like a great resort! Which part are you staying in?

We're staying in the Colonial part for a little more privacy.
We stayed at the Caribe last year and it was fantastic - that's where most of our guests are staying.

Do you have to pay for a pass for them to be able to come over to the colonial? Do they only have the beach and chapel ceremony sites? Also what do you think about the tropical?

The people staying at the Beach and Caribe sides of the resort have access to everything except the extra a la carte restaurants (they get 2 as opposed to 4) and the air conditioned buffet restaurants (they get an open air buffet which is really nice as well!).
I believe they do only have the beach and chapel ceremony sites - I know their gardens can't be used for weddings (which is a shame because they're absolutely gorgeous).
The Tropical is the same as the Colonial - beautiful beautiful beautiful.
It's a little busier than the rest of the resort though because it's got the activity pool right in front.

You might have convinced me Melissa... It looks lovely. Do you know what the private reception options are?
Also, do you know if there is an option to have an arch or chuppah set up on the beach for the ceremony?
Thanks.

You can have a reception in one of their banquet halls or if you have under 20guests they'll let you have your reception in one of the a la cartes.
Or if you pick the under the stars wedding they'll do a private reception on the beach.
I'm not sure about the arch or chuppah though Sorry!

Is the banquet hall open air, or is it totally indoors like a normal hotel reception?
Melissa, I didn't realize how soon your wedding was!!
