Hi there! My wedding is 10/10/09 at Isla Mujeres Palace. We signed up for the sunset deluxe package. It has been hard to find pictures of actual weddings there. I found a couple of photos of an IMP wedding on Trip advisor. There's not a whole lot of info out there like the other Palace resorts. I've heard the island is beautiful and more relaxed than those in Cancun. Which package did you choose?

I'm glad we found eachother!

Hello

I have found a lot of pictures of Moon Palace but only one set from Isla Mujeres Palace. Probably the same ones you saw on Trip Advisor. I am slowly getting information though, so if you have any questions on our resort, I might have some answers.

I am doing the free package and then adding what we want like flowers and photography. I am beginning to get excited though because my wedding is only like 6 months away now.

Do you have a wedding coordinator yet? If so, who is yours?

I'm not getting married there but have been to the resort. FI and I were actually staying at the Sun Palace in Cancun, and took a day trip to Isla Mujeres Palace. It was beautiful, and the water was even more aqua than Cancun. It was very clean, and the wait staff was UNBELIEVABLE!

We were supposed to go in September for a site visit only the day of our site visit Hurricane Ike came by and it was raining and windy so it was recommended that we not go to the island that day. sad.gif

I love that resort! It looks beautiful. Did you see the wedding package with the catamaran that leaves right after the ceremony for the cocktail hour?! That is so awesome.

I totally want to hear if you guys pick this resort and how it goes!

The reviews on Trip Advisor area really good too...

I am so glad I found this forum! I am getting married at Isla Mujeres Palace on May 2, 2009! I decided to go with the Sunset Deluxe Package because we wanted the catamaran ride at sunset. I am doing a 5pm wedding time but I am not sure if that's enough time to get everything in (mostly just pictures after the wedding and before the cruise). What time did you pick for your ceremony? I went and visited the hotel in May of 2008 and it's really nice. I don't think it's as 'glamorous' as the other Palace Resorts but that is what we liked so much about it! The hotel is small and very low key. We were deciding between Moon Palace and IMP and after seeing them, we knew immediately that IMP was for us. Yes, the tour boats during the day can add crowds at the resort but since they are gone by 2pm it won't effect my wedding! I have a huge list of questions for my wedding coordinator but I haven't bothered her with them yet. I think I might start emailing her and see if I get a response.

Are you doing a private reception? So far we elected to not since the hotel only has one restaurant and there aren't many people staying at the hotel at one time.

Anyway, sorry to ramble- but as I learn more information about my wedding I will be sure to post it for everyone to know!

Hi there,

I've decided to do the sunset catamaron cocktail reception too! I have tried to find out how the boat is laid out. Do you know any details. The only thing I'm concerned about is if it's going to be comfortable for us and our guests. They said there were no seats or covered areas. If it's the same as catamarons I have been on, we need to plan on getting wet and getting dirty. I would think IMP would make sure it would be a great experience for weddings, but I haven't been able to get any concrete information. Do you have any detailed info, other than what they initially send? Are you using a travel agent or just booking through the hotel?

Thanks for any information you have!

Sunny

Hello~

Sadly, I don't know anything about the catamaran. I would love to see pictures but haven't tried contacting my wedding planner yet. From all the fourms that I have read, it sounds like the wedding planners won't really talk to you until about 2 months before the wedding. I assume the catamaran leaves from the dock/pier that the hotel owns so it's easy to get your guests on and off the boat. I am working on a list of questions to ask my wedding planner and once I know more, I will let you know. I also want to know about backup options in case there is a storm! What would I get for my money? I know the price in the sunset package is for 30 people and we are expecting 40 total so I hope we have enough room as well!

As far as the rooms go, I inquired on pricing through the hotel. If I put up a financial backing, they would give me the group rate- only $10 off per night! I laughed at this! So, I found a timeshare guy who sells his weeks of his timeshare and then we pay his weekly rate. So far, I have 23 people booked and we haven't had any issues booking through him. I can give you more details if you are interested.

Are you doing a private reception? We aren't but I don't think it's going to be an issue since the resort is so small.

I am so glad I found someone else that is planning a wedding there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
