Lightbulb Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue...

You ladies tend to come up with some pretty amazing and unique concepts. I'm just curious if anyone has decided to incorporate a unique twist on this bridal tradition?

Not sure if we are going to do the old, new, borrowed, blue thing but my FI is looking for a sixpence so that we can tie it to my flip flop. The full rhyme goes "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence for her shoe." The sixpence is suppose to be for wealth.

I love it! I'll keep an eye out for ya.
I just got to thinking about it because I figured out my something old and it manages to represent a special family member who has passed. My great grandmother was irish catholic and I somehow inherited her crystal and silver rosary that had been blessed by the pope in the early 50s. I will wrap it around the ribbon of my bouquet.

I think we're going to do a martini bar for the Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue...

Old: Dirty Martini
New: Pomegranate Martini (since Oprah's made them so popular)
Borrowed: The signature Martini from my club- the Passion Fruit Martini
Blue: Some random martini we'll make up and have blue curacao in it..

What do you guys think? I'm especially proud of this creation!

I love it!!! Great idea!!! WTG!

So far...

New: Dress (that's kind of obvious!)

Borrowed: My friends veil maybe (if not I'm using her guest book pen!)

Blue: Undies with "I do" on them! :)

Old: Stumped...have to talk to my mom about this one...or my g'mother.

i'm also going to do the blue flip flops/sandals..not found anything i like yet..but will go serious shoe hunting next summer.

I don't know about the others...the something new will probably be my dress, then the something old will be my mums pearls, but i don't know about the something borrowed...maybe i'll start eyeing up everyones jewellery!lol

I love the martini bar idea. I am borrowing my cousin's tiara that she wore for her wedding, I will have a new dress, I am getting a blue garter, but still working on the old!
