So, I'm trying to nail down the music for my wedding next march.
I'm having an intimate ceremony with 20 guests at Hacienda San Angel.
My ideal scenario would be:
Ceremony (1 hour): trio
Cocktail hour (1 hour): mariachi
Dinner (3 hours): DJ
The problem is that HSA has informed me that the HOURLY rates are
$195 for trio
$600 for mariachi
$250 for DJ
That's insanely expensive for hourly rates! or is this normal?

At Dreams, the mariachi is $700/hour... the trio is quoted at $300 or $500 (I can't remember)... the DJ is $170/hr but I think that is with me providing my iPod and/or CDs... if they have to provide the music it would be even more expensive.

we plan to bring our laptap with our play list already done up and plan on renting the speakers to hook in to. we will just have someone hit the buttons at certain times.

Those prices don't seem too far off-base to me. At Playa Fiesta, the trio is $500 per hour, the 10 piece mariachi band is $700 per hour, and the DJ is $600 for the entire night (flat fee).

I am getting married in Hilton Head, but just to give you the comparison to here.
My dj is $650 for 4 hours (he is the least expensive one) & my ceremony solo violinist is $275 for 1 hour (she is the least expensive).
So, you are doing really good with those prices I think! Plus it will be what you want!
