Hi there,
So, we found the perfect hotel for us to have our wedding! The Cozumel Presidente Intercontinental....however, bmy experience with the onsite planner has been really disappointing. Basically, I have had to micro-manager her every step of the way so far. And, we haven't event signed the contract yet. I'm contemplating calling the manager and insisting that they assign me a new coordinator, although I'm pretty sure she's the one.
What do I do? I really like the site...I'm just worried about having to deal with an incompetent wedding coordinater for the next year and then having something go wrong on wedding day.
Help please!
DB

hey! that sounds really stressful maybe you should see if there are some wedding coordinators that are not from the resort and could help you better!...im sure there are some girls on here that would have some recommendations :) did you try searching on here for anything about an outside WC?

I would call the general manager of the hotel and ask if you could change WC's.

Hi DB,
I have to say that I know what you are going through! I am dealing with the coordinator at BBGE in Playa del Carmen, and she also doesn't seem to understand the need to get back with answers. I am not sure what kind of issues you are dealing with, but it seems the response time down there is not the same as here. I waited for a band recommendation for almost a month! I had to keep asking for it....I ended up trying to find it myself. I actually just read on the Mx vendor thread about wedding coordinators and may start quoting them. My concern is to bring someone from the outside and make things a bit tense with the hotel one....i'll let you know if I get a good estimate for a wc. Good luck, PO

Here is my advice... please don't take it too harshly....
If you are having problems now... why continue to deal with that resort... there are hundreds of gorgeous resorts out there... in every carribean/mexican location.
If you are having issues now... imagine what it will be like in the future.
IMO - the WC at the resort is the key to your entire DW... I think she will make a huge impact on the experience you have and the experience that your guests have.
I am lucky, Sandra at the Barcelo Marina Palace is awesome.

I would either hire an outside WC or find another resort. These problems will most likely be there during the whole planning process and do you really want to be stressed out about this the whole time?

The ladies above have given great advice...whether you change locations or you request a different WC, just don't continue to work with this one or you'll be pulling your hair out by the end of your planning. Go with your gut feeling!

I would would find someone else.... odds are they have another planner or even maybe the planners assistant would be better... from the sound of it they couldn't be any worse. best of luck.
