karma: 1 | Invitations for parents?
This may be a really stupid question, but as we are having a very small wedding, of immediate family and 1 or 2 close friends, we COULD just inform everyone in person about the details of the wedding.
This forum has all of these cute ideas though, and I am considering boarding pass STDs because they are the coolest idea ever, and also I have tons of time since the wedding isn't for 2 years. (the consensus on the forum seems to be to send out STD's about 15 months to 1 year before the wedding)
My parents are also involved in the planning process because they are helping with a lot of the cost. SO question: Do I send my parents, and my FI's parents a Save the Date? I may not actually do invitations since everyone is already aware of the plan and will be apart of the process. It just seems a little strange because I see them weekly and they are well aware of the date and location and all of the details.
Did you send your parents invites or STDs?

I sent my parents and fi's parents STDs and invitations. I thought they might want to keep them as momentos.

I think invites are a "Do"! A written or printed invite just really sets the tone for the day and expresses how special the day is regardless of how big the wedding is. For very intimate or small weddings, I've heard of couples doing handwritten or very personal invites. In the age of computers and online printing services, you could do a beautiful invite that is cost effective but still express how much you would treasure the presence of those special people you have chosen to invite to your wedding.

Alright thanks everyone! I will definitely send them one. I never even thought of it as a memento or keepsake for them so that is great!
