Wedding Ceremony ?

So we are paying a lot of money for the set up of our ceremony so I really want it to last more then 5 - 10 minutes. I am adding the sand ceremony, does anyone have any other non religious, unique, spiritual traditions that we can do?

What I would reccomend is getting to know your officiant well before the ceremony, if in person or through email or phone conversations. This will enable them to write something very sentimental about you as a couple. Our officiant is in the family, so obviously she knows us very well.

Also, try to look for readings that you could do. Poems that you love, saying that you love, song lyrics that are appropriate to your marriage, or religious verses (if you're doing a religious ceremony). Then, enter them all into a word document. Try to put all the readings in an order that actually flows/makes sense. This was probably the most difficult part for us bc we wanted to include a lot in the ceremony, and they were all things that meant a lot to us, but didnt flow naturally. But with a lot of work, you can get the entire ceremony to flow properly.

We are doing a Celtic hand fastening ceremony. They have versions of the hand fasting for nationalities also.

There is the hand ceremony. If you think you can get through it without crying.

There is a part I really love about the Mayan/cosmic ceremony where each of your guests get to come up and say something to you both; a blessing, passing on wisdom, a poem, a song, whatever they want. If your guest list is on the smaller side like your this might be an option.
