Has anyone painted a paper parasol?

Hi Ladies,
I searched and there were a couple thread on here with guesses but not one where someone had actually done it.

Here is what want to do with an orange M & our date:


Has anyone done this? I am wondering how to trace the design and what kinds of paints are usable? Thanks, Carla

Thanks for the link. If all else fails I guess I can just buy one.

I plan on doing the aisle runner and table runner myself since they are flat; all I need would be a projector and pencil to trace the image. I just can't figure out how to do that same thing on a parasol since it isn't flat.

I have never painted one but I would think you could use the projector to make a flat stencil that you can drape across the parasol and trace. Minor adjustments might need to be made but a lightweight paper or tissue stencil could be easily manipulated to fit the parasol. Then you could make a more durable stencil from that for repeated use. Good luck!
