I don't think it will look cheesy! I think he'll be really happy you have a cookie cake for him because it is what he really loves. Plus, groom's cakes are always so different from the wedding cake anyway, I think it's expected to cater to what the groom likes and wants.

I think Groom's Cakes are more of a Southern Thing- every wedding here in TX I've ever been to has had a grooms cake! (remember Steel Magnolias with the Red Velvet Armadillo cake?)

My FI isn't into cake either- cookie cakes would have to be the way to go! I agree with you msasfraz- I don't want him to feel like his cake is less important/insignificant next to my 4 tier wonder!
