Default Mariachi prices at an All-Inclusive

I'm getting married at Riu and they charge $800 for their mariachi for 45 minutes. That's outrages!!! If we bring an outside mariachi, we have to pay a $75 guest pass for each of the maraichi members (and that's a discount because the passes are $100) plus what ever the mariachi charges us for their services. It will probably come out to the same price if we just hire an outside mariachi band, but it's so stupid to me they would charge for guest passes if they are not going to be eating/drinking with us.

Did anyone else hire a mariachi at an all-inclusive resort? What did you have to pay?

OMG SISTA! I AM FEELING YOUR PAIN!!

We too are getting stuck with the $700 price tag for 45 minutes at RIU Vallarta. They won't even let us bring in another mariachi. I am going to wait until we get there to see if the mariachi's are playing the night of our wedding. All I want is for them to walk with us from the hotel lobby to the restaurant and play a couple of songs then leave. My dad is in charge of this. I am hoping he can slip the mariachi's $200 and just have them do what we want and then go on about their business.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is the only suggestion I have found. There is no way around the RIU policies. The price is totally outrageous!

At the Paradisus Palma Real it's $1800 for a 9 piece Mariachi band. The price list doesn't say how long they play for

At the Gran Bahia Principe the prices for 45 minutes is 360$... Not that bad compared to 800$!! That's not cheap!

RIU is crazy! I received an email back from the WC because I had asked her what the charge would be to hire the mariachi for 90 minutes and she said $1600. I thought the second 45 minute part would't cost us as much since the fee of the day pass was already included in the first half. I'm just going to see in the Cancun Vendor section if anyone knows of any mariachi groups we can hire and just pay for the day passes to compare the prices.

Hi-
I am getting married at the Royal in PDC and am booking a guitarist and also a Mariachi Band through Ajua Weddings. They are a wedding coordination service. I was referred to them by another Royal bride who said their cost for the mariachi was less than the resort. Once I saw they had a guitarist too, I decided to do that as well. Below is their contact info. They have a $100 coordination fee. The mariachi is a six piece group and they are $375 for 45 min. Hope this helps!
