-no veil
-not a typical bouquet toss (all the women will be able to try and catch it)
-no reception dance (although we may go dance at the one lobby bar witha love band)
-not being "given away"
-my Mom is walking our kids down the isle
-barefoot
-legal ceremony already done, so only a symbolic DW
-no rehersal dinner (although we may all meet up together for supper anyway)
-white dress with turquoise on it
-father/daughter mother/son dance will be done with our kids rather than our parents (if we go dancing at the lobby bar)

That dollar dance sounds fun, although I have never heard of it before. Around here people usually just kidnap the bride for an hour or so and have to raise a ransom before they bring her back. To collect the ransom, a cowboy boot is usually pasted around. During the kidnapping, the bride usually takes off to a bar to go dancing for a few songs before heading back to the reception!

*I am marrying my ex-husband.
*My daughters will be waking me down the aisle and giving me away (back to their father) I don't know if this is good thing or bad thing LOL
*We will be staying together the night before.
*Only having maid of honor and best man.
*No flower girl/ring bearer. Actually, no children under 18.
*I'm not wearing a veil.
*I don't plan on doing Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.
*No sand ceremony or unity candle or any other type
*No gifts
*No father daughter/mother son dance. Parents are deceased
*No TTD (if this is even a tradition) I must be getting old because I never even heard of this until I joined this forum. LOL

Oooooh I have a good one...today actually my FI is going wedding dress shopping with me! I have narrowed it down to 4-5 different dresses and I REALLY want his opinion on them (otherwise I have this fear that he will just HATE the dress)...so we are going today! He won't actually know which one I end up getting but he will have seen me in the dress already!

Which song is it, if you don't mind me asking?
I think getting boozed is pretty much traditional...

Great thread! I go to weddings every weekend so there are so many things I don't want to do!

`Both parents walking me down the aisle
`No children under 16
`No ring bearer/flower girl
`my ceremony is going to be in the round
`no garter/bouquet toss
`no cake cutting - and no cake! (cupcakes)
`No religious ceremony
`Seeing each other before and he will see my dress
`No money/Honeymoon dance (they are popular on the West coast too)
`No regular veil (birdcage)
`after-party at same location (its a rental place with rooms)
`No limo

no special dances (only bride & groom)
no head table for bridal party
no bouquet toss
my mom gave me away
no engagement party
no rehearsal dinner/welcome dinner

we stayed together the night before
no gifts for parents
no gifts for each other
