I don't think that you are a bad bride at all. First of all you are lucky to have a MOH that doesn't plan a traditional shower for you since that is what you don't want. The gift thing just happens even if you don't want it to. I would have your family (mom, sister) and your MOH know that if anyone asks what you want they should tell them that your home is put together already and if they insist on a gift that money would be best or a more personal gift like a spa gift certificate, etc. Most of the time guests ask the mother or sister of the bride or the MOH for ideas. THat is a good way to get out of registering for gifts. Good luck to you and enjoy the shower!!!

Wow girls, thanks for all of the valuable feedback. One of you hit it on the nose - I think that with my wedding so close & having so many other things to deal with/finalize, this is just one of those things I'd prefer not to have to put any thought into.
I am going to email my MOH & mother right now to let them know that lingerie or spa gift certificates or CASH would be preferred. I guess I also need stuff like a guest book and toasting glasses for the wedding...
Thanks again ladies! I really appreciate all of the insight.

A close friend of mine was in the same boat and what we ended up doing was having a "lingerie party" instead of a traditional shower. So everyone was told to bring her lingerie and spa thingies. And instead of stupid games there was food and liquor and everytime she opened a gift, the person who gave her the gift had to tell a funny story about her. It was great and so much fun! She got so much lingerie which she really needed and people had guidance and she didn't get crap she didn't like. Since everyone gave her gift receipts she was able to return anything that wasn't her taste. You are not a bad bride you are actually very nice for not wanting your guests to spend on something else. But maybe you can do a lingerie party and this way you'll get tons of cute pajamas and spa stuff.
