Weddings at Firefly?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had their wedding at Noel Coward's Firefly in Oracabessa, near Port Maria? Considering this venue for a unique wedding location but am finding it hard pressed to locate pictures of how weddings are set up there, or anyone to tell me their experience in coordinating a wedding there. Any help would be much appreciated! :-)

That is where I had my wedding. It is an amazing site. However, I booked through Almarie, "Tropical Weddings Jamaica" If you want to see pictures of the site just go on her web site Tropical Weddings Jamaica - Private, Romantic, Beach, Garden, waterfall Wedding Locations

It is the location called "Tropical Grande Oceanfront"

It is about a 45 min drive from Ocho Rios.

driftaway, oh my goodness! FINALLY...someone who's been married at Firefly!! How long ago did you have your wedding there and how many guests attended?

The link you provided for Almarie reflects all small weddings of 5-10 people, and I am planning on having 100 (we are both from Jamaica and our families and friends live in Kingston). While the coordinator, Ossie, has been wonderful to deal with so far, I am getting an overall sense of their not being very organized or equipped, and he cannot even provide me with any pictures of weddings they've held there so I can see how. Their catering is done by Goldeneye and while being inexpensive, they only give the option of it being a buffet. Since my soon-to-be inlaws can do all the legwork, I'm not using a wedding coordinator and don't even know where to start in terms of finding good vendors nearby.

I would love any information you can provide, as well as any pictures of your wedding and reception, as it will probably show me a lot more than what the website did. If you don't mind sharing, can you please email me at [email protected]? I would be soooo appreciative!

THANKS!!

  • 11 months later...

just wanted to *bump* this forum up since the last post was last year. I'm also looking for brides who've been married or plan to get married at the firefly location. I've been looking into Tropical Weddings Jamaica - Create Your Own Wedding Package in Jamaica ~ it's the Tropical Grande Oceanfront location but other than that website I can't find wedding pics anywhere else.

Anyone have any info?

I just booked my wedding at Firefly this week for Feb. 2010 I am using heleng wedding events and helen has been great so far and very organized. Her website shows pictures of a wedding she did in April, I will post the link to the website and once on the site go to "event portfolio" and choose the "Greg and Nikki St. Mary April 2009" link and it shows how the wedding ceremony was set up. Also this is a great wedding coordinatior.

?

I just looked at the Helen G website before viewing this and fell in love with the picture of Greg and Nikki's wedding.  So ironic that it was yours.  Anyhow, does anyone have an idea of Helen G's pre-packaged weddings.  I'm looking at the gold or platinum package.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
