Default Re: How do I ask for travel vouchers to pay for our honeymoon?

I find a lot of brides are torn when it comes to registries. Some include a registry sheet with their invites, and others use word of mouth. Personally, if its a traditional cultural expectation then I see nothing wrong with including a registry information sheet with the invite. It would simply state: Registry name (yours) and where it can be located(online). When guests make it to the website they'll get more information. Another thing you could do is mention it on your wedsite, as well as have your parents, and bridal party mention it to others (word of mouth).

P.S. In my mind a registry is a registry is a registry If your guests are used to them, it won't matter the type- honeymoon, kitchen and bathroom, etc.

Good luck!

Oh forgot one more thing....I've been several weddings, and a few were DW (as I was looking at a minimum of 20 hours driving time/3 hours flight time) and I always bought gifts. It just all depends on your guests!

We used Honeymoon Registry and Travel Experts - TheBigDay's wedding registry for honeymoon experiences for our honeymoon registry. We didn't get a ton of gifts off it, but I liked the way they allowed you to customize your gifts with pics, etc. We also booked our honeymoon hotels through them, got a good deal, and it waived the registry fee! Most of our guests gave cash at the wedding instead of gifts...

I agree with others that in the US it is tacky to include registry info in your invites, but if that is custom in the UK, then go for it! We put the info on our website had our parents tell people about it. My mom insisted that we have a traditional registry as well, so we registered at Bed Bath and Beyond with high end items we'd never buy ourselves...
