When did your guests start booking?

I'm just curious as to when any of your guests started booking after you sent a STD or the official invite?

I only sent out a save the date magnet with our wedsite address and on the magnet I let everyone know that there would be a formal invite to follow. I'm just wondering what people's timelines were as to when you sent/or are planning to send the formal invite. Isn't that only like 3 or 4 months in advance?

I'm probably just being paranoid but i guess I am worried that people won't get good airfare etc.. and that they won't go to the website and see all the TA info.

We did not send save the dates, but we sent out our invites in January for our November wedding, to give people alot of time to book. I was surprised when people started booking right away, but then we have had a few last minute doddlers

Our TA said the sooner people book, the better, because you can get a group rate, and you never know what can happen with airline rates and whatnot...

I just sent out my invites and they're already booking. I have about 6-8 people booked

I am planning to send my STDs out in October and my invites in March with an RSVP by June 30, 2009.

Even though air is not available yet for Dec 2009, I have had 5 people book a hotel room directly through the resort.

I don't believe that you can book through Travelocity, Orbitz or Expedia until 6 months out so I think as long as you get something out to your invitees by that time, they'll be able to get good rates. I could be wrong though.

I sent out my STD's in January for an October wedding. Most people booked in February.

We sent out our STD in June and 22 have booked, we are sending our invitest in Sept for a Feb wedding.

We sent our STD's with a first RSVP date of July 1st for my May 22nd wedding. I know it was super early but we needed to have a rough number to plan our budget around.

We had 76 RSVP's out of 116 invites by July 1st and they are still coming in.

We booked a row of hotel rooms on July 20th and they have all been booked by our guests. Last room was booked today. We only secured 20 rooms, since we had to put down $2000 to hold them. Now our guests can book at our group rate on their own.

Most of my guests are booking their rooms this month, the TA got great rates and my guests only have to put down 1 night stay now, in November the other two nights and in April the last night payment. Which is great that it is broken up for them to not feel the hit all at once.

Some of my guests have found great flight rates so they started booking this week, but out of NYC and Orlando where most guest are flying from it is still really high. But I have been checkign and flight prices are going down. Yeah......

If you are getting married the same weekend as me I feel like any time before October 1st you are okay if they haven't booked. After Oct. 1st I would get on them.

OH I also sent out 2 emails to remind my friends to book rooms now while they were available.

We sent out STD flyers last week for our cruise to Bermuda 6/20/09. We have 16 cabins booked already! I am sending invites in March, with RSVP in April since the $$$ is due 4/1.

Some people get excited! Which is awesome because we are SO pumped!

7 people (other than us) have already booked, AND OUT STDs AREN'T OUT YET!
