angela, karla used him...i will be honest with you...i had him scheduled to do my wedding and he bailed a few days before my wedding...i wasn't the first wedding he bailed on...some of the WC will not use him because of this.

Ugh.. I did recall reading that.. I was hoping maybe Juan would do my wedding for his rate..lol j/k

Matt won't let me use Juan at $500/hr. (sad)

I love Gilda's work and Dino's photos look pretty good.
The websites are funny because some photos are bright and vibrant, but others are really dull looking.. I wonder if that's a reflections on the photos themselves?

maybe we should have some of the grooms talk to matt about juan (like my DH or rebecca's)...what about manuel b...gilda is great as well.

Have you thought about Bradley Fraser? Cabo Wedding Photography, Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas Photographers, Cabo Weddings

Sorry I don't know his current rates. But they can't be as high as Juan's!

We looked at about 20 websites last night and I had rates from a few photographers.. when he heard that some people charge $400 first hour and $300 each hour after, he didn't even want to hear about the $450-$500 people.. believe me he does understand how important it is.. we have many "books of love" lol our photo albums.

Maybe I shouldn't have went over the budget with him at the same time. We're already over our 10k without photography/video.. uh oh

I had the same problem with my fiance. They just do not understand how important it is... We are also on a budget and building a house this year. My fiance just wanted his friend to take the pictures or just not have pictures! Finally, we agreed on a budget for the wedding that he feels comfortable with. Normally I would just say screw it, and go over budget... You only get married once right (hopefully)! But because the house is still very important to me, I decided to get a job tutoring to make the extra $. Needless to say, I booked Juan Carlos. Pictures were just something I couldn't skimp on. Maybe you could working something out with your man.

This concerns me. I am getting ready to book Juan Carlos, and I just finished reading over the contract. It says in the event he becomes ill and cannot make the wedding, he will provide a sub, which is standard. I emailed him and asked him who he had in mind. He told me Francisco Estrada or Manuel Burgoin. Manuel's pictures were the bomb! talk to juan about francisco. the best any photographer can do is find a suitable substitute. does juan offer a full refund if a suitable sub cant be found? having a back up list of 2 isnt very many. i know it doesnt help as far as having wedding pics goes. i would just let juan know that you wouldnt want francisco as a sub. he will either tell you those are his only choices or he will tell you he will take fran off his list of suitable subs for you and think of someone else.
