Hello!
I was just wondering if anyone is having a ceremony in Playa, then going back home and having another ceremony, but in the church and having a party?? If so, was it stressful? Your experiences will really help! thanks!

I think most of the girls here including myself, are having the ceremony at the destination and an AHR in their home town. (Not at a church or anything, just more of a celebration of the wedding) Of course the choice is yours and if you really wanted 2 seperate ceremonies, then by all means do it! A lady I work with got married in Africa and in Colorado (due to traditional beliefs) They also have a shit load of money lol. :)

We are doing the ceremony and reception in MX and then thinking about doing a wedding blessing with celebration party back home.

First off..Davemathews..that was a hilarious reply! We do not have a lot of money, definitely not. But we are not expecting many people to come out to Playa for our wedding either. I would say 10 people..so the reception dinner will be very inexpensive.
My fiance's family is very religious and he wants to do it for his parents which I totally understand. Our dream is to get married on the beach so we are doing that. The reception back home is going to be at my sister's house and we are doing a very low key bbq where you pay for a personal griller to come and cook for your guests. So, that as well will not be too expensive. Most people are telling me they spent $10k and over..and we will not come close to that w/ both parties so we feel great about that!
One plus is I get to wear my dress twice and I have to admit it will be nice to have two ceremonies. That way..the family that can't make it out to Playa can still see us get married :O)
Just stressed out seeing that I have a very close-minded sister that tells me it's "so weird" that someone would get married twice and wear their dress twice. ugh!!! It's hard dealing w/ peoples opinions especially since you are using her house!!
Thanks for the replies!!

we had a big wedding and reception at home (my Big Freakin Wedding) which was our legal wedding, then we also had 20 people go to Cabo for our "real" but not legal wedding, which was what we really wanted.
so, we didnt do 2 for religious reasons, not in a church etc, but 1 at home more for the families, and 1 DW for us!
