Default Trying to Decide on an Island

Hello Ladies,

I'm new to this forum. I've looked through threads and everyone seems to be so helpful. I'm trying to decide which island in Hawaii to get married on. Can anyone give me pros and cons of the islands to help me decide?

Thank you!
Linda

Although Im not getting married in Hawaii, I've been to a few islands and can give you my insight. Each island has it's own personality so do your research. My favorite is Kauai but they're all so gorgeous!

I picked Kauai because it is not as busy and as touristy as some of the other islands. Also I just fell in love with the scenery on the north coast.

We may honeymoon on a different island for a few days...

I guess the choice was easy because my FI is insisting that Kauai is the most beautiful place in the world. So I couldn't really say no!

Good question.. Kauai seems to be a favourite for quite a few people. I've only been to Oahu and knew I didn't want to get married there.. but I'm excited to see Maui :)

I went through this too! I was between the Big Island and Oahu. The reason I was looking at these two was because of family (my great aunt lives on Oahu and she has a place on the Big Island). The reason I went with Oahu was just because of the ease for guests and all of the resources.
It depends on what you are looking for though. We will probably be having around 75 guests, so that is why we decided to have it on Oahu. If you are keeping it small and you want something true to Hawaii, then I would agree with the others on Kauai. Kauai is less touristy, and it is just so natural and beautiful. Oahu, especially around Waikiki, is very touristy. The North Shore of Oahu and around Ko Olina, it is much less touristy. Maui is also becoming very touristy, so I wouldn't recommend it if this is what you are trying to avoid.
Just a little tidbit, I was just out there about a month ago and everyone said that the tourist industry is way down. Hawaii should be having some great deals within the next year!
