Hello everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has any wacky and creative guestbook ideas. My sister is getting married in Mexico...about 50 to 60 people attending. She isnt too sure about having a traditional guestbook, so we're looking for any other suggestions. We're open to anything as long as its big enough for everyone to sign and its easy to get down to Mexico.

Thanks!

We're using a starfish platter. (20 person wedding) Everyone signs it with paint markers, and it's on there forever for you to enjoy! If we didn't do this, our other idea was a starfish pail with "advice cards" for the guests to fill out and put in there. For a bigger wedding the pail may work better :)

We bought a large frame with a large matte surrounding the place for the picture. We'll put a picture of us in it for the wedding and guests will sign with a black felt pen. Later, we'll add one of our wedding pics to the frame and hang it in the house :)

I got a Debbie Travis frame at Canadian Tire. Thought the matted frames specifically for weddings were really jacked up in price sad.gif

Davematthews - I love those platters too = great idea!cheer2.gif

I know someone on here got some of the signature donkey's to sign. Like an autograph dog or something.

I thought about laying out shells and sharpies and having people sign a message on their own shell. Then put all the shells in a bowl somewhere in the house for a keepsake.

amyh did an awesome thing i will have to come back later to post photos of -

she got dry erase boards and had a teenage family member run this - the guests were given directions to write a message to amy & hans using 5 words or less on the dry erase board and take a photo. i saw her photos and some of them are totally hilarious, while others are really sweet and sentimental. i am doing this also for my wedding in 3 weeks so i will let you know how it turns out and will post pics right away when i get back. if you want to check it out in the meantime, check amyh's planning thread (called amyh's planning galore, use the search to find it) i will post the directions when i get back but i gotta go run out for an errand right now.

We had the donkeys. Party supplies, crafts, party decorations, toys: <%=OTCApplicationConstants.LABEL_SITE_BRAND_NAME %>
Beware - they end up in humping positions by the end of the night.

Maura,

can i have your dry erase boards to do this too? are you just assigning a family member with a camera or disposable cameras?

Thanks Maura for the explanation! You saved me some time, hehe! Yes, my guests had fun with them. They even made it out to the dance floor!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
