Hello Fellow DWB...
I wouldn't consider myself a 'newbie' more like a 'silent lurker'. My FI and I decided on Dominican Republic months ago just can't narrow down the hotels. We will be visiting the Punta Cana area August 6 - August 13, staying at one of our options EdenH. While we are there we are visiting the following grounds:
1. Sanctuary Cap Cana - grounds only. Since this is not an all inclusive none of our guest nor us have to stay here.
2. Paradisus Punta Cana
3. Riu Palace
4. EdenH Real Arena
'Save the Dates' were sent out last month for our wedding date May 9th, 2009. I will post pictures later. I am excited to finally pick the location in about 2.5 weeks.  The ideas I've read about here are great but can't action anything until I know where I'm getting married. If it were up to me, I would have picked the hotel and planning would have started. But my FI insist we visit grounds first. We are expecting about 100+ ppl at our wedding, so a private reception is necessary.

Sounds like you have some great choices to choose from. You may want to consider the Colonial Majestic as well. It isn't very far from EdenH and I have had a great time there in the past. | |

Well good luck with the trip. I am sure they are all beautiful resorts. Keep us posted on your top pick. My FI and I are looking into booking Dreams. We stayed at one in Cabo and it was amazing.Have a wonderful time | |

I guess being nervous comes from not wanting to be disppointed. Excited bc I will hopefully be able to put my mind at ease.
I'm driving my FH crazy. I show him my ideas and then change my mind almost weekly. He does not want to hear anything about the wedding until we choose a location. No wedding talk, hmmm...
